We got up that morning and went to breakfast. We walked around again for a bit in town, and UB hadn't felt well for a few days, and that morning it was worse than ever. We got medication for him ($25 US). We were set to leave that afternoon to take a boat to Hurghada, so we hoped he'd be better by then. We spent the day relaxing by the water and …
... with the usual bunch of insomnia masochists. We attended 3 lectures this morning. The first was by the aviation lecturer Ian Smith on Aden and South Arabia. He had worked in the area as a flight engineer in the years preceding the British withdrawal in 1967 and was able to show us photographs taken at that time of some of the places we had visited. Of particular interest was Dubai where 40 years ago there was very little. The British left Aden after what some describe as the ...
El Gouna is a paradise for beach holiday along the red sea coast. You can even rent an apartment here for permanent home. It consists of 20 islands surrounded by picturesque lagoons and Arabic style architectures. You could easily access here by Go bus from Cairo or Hurghada.
The stay in our hotel, Arena Inn, is unforgettable. Due to low season now, it costs only USD33/night. After having a big ...
... it is so crowded with tourists and so walked further away from the crowd. It is so much better on the further end of the beach. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time on the beach, we returned to our boat for lunch. In the afternoon, we have snorkeling at another two sites. Comparing to the island we just went in Sabah, the red sea water is not as clear as there. Our tour finished at about 3p.m. Overall, we enjoy our day and the trip is a ...
... I like to cook and so we went in an Egyptian spice shop. The shop keeper is so enthusiastic in explaining every spice in his shop. He also told us the recent politics issue they had in their country and the reason why they don’t like America. They wanted to control their own country by themselves. The tourism industry is getting worse by the news. It is safe to travel ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Moevenpick Resort Hurghada
We spent a week here in May and found it disappointing.Weather great, lovely pool and beach so what was wrong?
My wife and I stayed at the Intercontintal, Hurghada between 11th-18th November 2005.
Very best Hotel, very poor kitchen
Stayed 11 day's at the hotel.
Rooms, swimming pool, etc: everything extremely clean and maintained!
Personel are all most friendly and helpfull.
Very large pool
Had a very nice vacation in a top-resort.
Only the evening food is a problem.
Little taste, no variation and almost all food is cold.
A problem managment will have to solve soon!!!!!!
Just got back yesterday from Intercontinental. I would call it the friendly hotel, because staff is very very friendly and helpfull. Hotel and rooms are comfortable en kept very clean. Breakfast is good, lot,s of choice. Dinner is without taste and many evenings the same and often cold. Sure not 5 stars, but rather 3 stars.
This hotel was pretty average compared to other hotels of equivalent standard we have stayed in within Egypt.
Having read previous negative reports on the Inter Continental, Hurhada, we have just returned from a 2 week holiday and were pleasantly suprised, by the hotel standards.
My girlfriend and I are from the UK and stayed at the Intercontinental in the last week of June/first week of July '05.
The Intercontinental Hurghada is a fantastic hotel, we visited in July 04 and we still talk about it.
I went there in June, and we had to change twice from room, as there was a big electricity generator very noisy in th bottom of the hotel. The bed in rooms are great but the shower and cleanless not so good. The minibar was half broken, the television runs but some of the services like the bills on the television doesn't work. We could'nt also close the window that gives on the terrace. The buffet in the main restaurant is really not famous and far away from a french quality. But the Italian restaurant (with extra charge) is really much better. The external bar is nice with the music in the evening. The beach was nice but the water is really not very clean and there is nothing to see underwater (sometimes some fishes but not gret variety). as the corals are all deads. In fact I prefered really the sofitel in hurghada.
