Great experience -Runaway Beach

The condo was very nice. Our family had a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo on the upper level. It was nicely decorated with a south Florida decor. It was close to the theme parks. Overall, my family and I were quite satisfied.

Perfect place to stay

We stayed at the Runaway Beach Club for 3 nights, Dec 28 - Dec 31. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and it was huge!We were three generations on a Disney trip. Check in was smooth and front desk wrote us out driving directions to Disney. We picked up breakfast items and snacks - made coffee every morning. Unit was clean and quiet. Only problem was with wireless internet - couldn't get on- front desk gave us a number to call - yes there was a problem - they fixed it, called us back and said it was ready to use. We used it for about a half an hour and it went down again. We switched to dial-up for rest of stay with no problems. Didn't use the pool - Disney was main reason to be there and just wanted a quiet place to come home to. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Loved it

We visited the resort in late December after the holiday's and were throughly impressed. We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite it was wonderful, our kids enjoyed it as well. I really can honestly say I have no complaints, the service was wonderful any questions I had they answered immediately. Our DVD wasn't working either but maintence came right in and show us what to do. The rooms are so spacious with walkin closets that speak for themselves. Both couches let out into queen size beds which was a welcome surprise for us(we only expected one to pull out) since we had and additional family come with us on our trip at the last minute. The only regrett I have is that I didn't spend alot of time in our suite to get the full experience of the suite, but next time(I plan to book with them again) I'll make sure that I have the full experience.

Good stay, Great price

We stayed in a two bredroom/two bath place this last November for the holidays and it was lovely - Very spacious! Everything is large, including big walk-in closets. And the kitchen was fully stocked with so much, it was great! The staff were friendly and the drive to the parks was only 10 minutes. However, there were a few negatives that bothered me a bit, but may not be much of a big deal to others. We could tell they didn't hire a very good contractor to paint the rooms in this resort as there were paint splatters and drippings in many different areas, such as the carpet, cabinets, counters and walls. It looked quite sloppy and a turn off to see that they thought of this to look acceptable. We also had a dvd player in the living room not working, but not much of a big deal as someone responded to us immediately and brought us a new one, and this was almost 11pm. And then we saw that we had phone messages awaiting for us on the room phone, but the phone nor the staff would allow us to retrieve them. But the biggest disappoinment of all is that the Runaway Beach Club Resort FALSLY advertises (on their website and on our internet printed reciept) that they have a shuttle going to the Disney parks. Well, No. They don't even have a shuttle, period! We had our own car, but what if we didn't? Especially since when I called them in the summer they said that they would have one running by November. And actually, we were going to use it! Anyway, I definately find faulse advertising irritating.

All in all though, this was a good place for us to stay. Understandably, thing's weren't all together %100 yet, and they do mention on one of their websites, the reciept and at the lobby that their still undergoing improvements. But the price we got for our stay at $125. for the 2br/2bth (after discount) was great. Therefore, I definately feel like we got more than our money's worth! I may or may not stay again, it depends. I'm sure by the next time we visit FL. again they will have their kiddy pool and shuttle up, but I wouldn't want to stay in another room with a paint job as sloppy as the one we stayed in. And my guess is, most of the rooms, if not all, look that way as they hired the same contractor for the entire place. It's almost as if I would have to physically check out the room first before making a final decision to keep the reservation after arriving. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I will do if I ever make another reservation there. If I can get the price I had before or even close, I would stay there again.

Hope this helps,

Mom of two

It was great

This resort had everything that we were looking for. Its amenities were awesome, except for the fact that the area by the pool was under construction and the heater was disconnected, but nonethe less, it was terrific. The hotel is close to Disney and all other attractions, it holds a wonderful location to area reasturants and other shopping areas. The staff was more the willing to help me with whatever I needed, whether it be transportation or other room needs. They were all very helpful. The rooms are spacious and had all the utensils, appliances and very comfortable beds. Tho there was no daily service to the room, if we requested it, we got it. I was told that this was something that would be changed after the first of the year, as it was a new management company that took over, and they are making critical changes to the hotel to make it much more enjoyable for the guest. It already made my trip enjoyable and I will be returning there every time we come to Orlando.

Great Rooms, Crappy Service

First of all, I want to say that our condo was gorgeous. It was spacious, had surround sound and TV's in the bedroom and living room, the kitchen was great, the bathroom large. However, many of the 'amenities' that were on their website were found to be lacking. The hot tub was blocked off because they are doing construction. The basketball court had a sign on it telling us it was closed, yet we saw several employees using it. There was no shuttle service to Disney, or anywhere for that matter.

When I got to the airport, I called to inquire as to when we could check in. I was told check in was at 3pm. I asked if I could check in early and was told that I might be able to, but the couldn't tell me for sure until I got there. I have no idea why they said this, because we were literally two of maybe 10 people staying there. I'm sure they had clean rooms at the time of my call.

We checked in and got to our room only to discover that the smoke detector was chirping. I tried to use the phone to call the front desk and just got a busy signal. I tried using the phone to dial the resort and just got a busy signal. Finally I called from my cell and got someone on the phone and explained that the smoke detector at the top of the catedral ceiling was chirping. They sent the maintenance guy and he showed up with a 6 ft ladder. He looked at the detector and left and came back with a slightly larger laddder. Then came back a third time finally with a ladder that worked.

I had called in to ask about wireless internet, which I was told was available in all rooms. As my boyfriend is a writer, and had some work he needed to get into the office under deadline, this was key. It woked for about an hour and then was down. So we headed off to the 'Business Center" where we still could not get the internet to work. We asked for help at the desk and were told that someone would call Tech Support, and then we sat and waited, and waited and waited. No one bothered to tell us what came of the call. Finally we went back to the desk to ask for a phone line to use for a modem and were told we'd have to use the one back in our room . We explained that we were just getting a busy signal and were told they'd forgotten to turn our phone on. So basically we'd wasted 2 hours of our morning trying to get an email to go through.

Several times our card key did not work and we had to go back to the office to get it fixed. Our room was located a good 6 minute walk to the front desk.

So if you just want a nice room, and can deal without any customer service - this is the place for you. If you require a little human contact, I'd stay somewhere else....

Great Stay At Runaway!

My husband and I recently stay at the Runaway Beach Club, and the resort was like no other in the area. It has a great location to all the area attractions, but also offers privacy from the busy city. Our suite was absolutely wonderful, including a full kitchen, private bedroom, two TV's, and a very spacious living area. The suite was immaculately kept and in a great location overlooking their own private lagoon. My husband loved the indoor basketball court for a little recreation, and I enjoyed the beautiful outdoor atmosphere of the resort. The front desk staff were very helpful in making our reservation and setting up transportation to local hot spots. Overall, we were very impressed with the resort and will definitely recommend it to all of our family and friends.

Brilliant stay at Runaway Bay

We stayed here for 5 nights recently & the apartments were brilliant. Everything you could need was there including washing machine, dryer & dishwasher. I loved the New England beach style of the furniture & decoration. It was in a good position with easy access to Disney, a Wal-Mart very close by to get provisions & Lake Buena Vista Outlet Mall was within 2 miles. As it was off-season we got a very good rate through hotels.com. There was a free business centre which we found useful for e-mails.

Stayed at the Runaway Beach Club for 2 nights in late October. Had a wonderful experience.Stayed in a 1 bedroom condo for $89 per night---condo was luxurious and clean. Condo was selling for $299,000! Everything in the condo seemmed brand new---carpeting, appliances, furniture, bedding, etc. ----even had a washer and dryer.

Beautiful clubhouse and pool. Pool had the most luxurious padded lounge chairs we have ever seen. Gated community with security officers patrolling the grounds--even though we felt it was in a very safe and quiet area of Kissimmee, close to the outlet mall and Disney. Very friendly workers.

They are expanding the pool area--adding a separate children's pool with waterslide, as well as an entertainment gazebo and small restuarant. Large pond in the middle of the complex surrounded by palm trees and beautiful landscaping.

Many thanks to Trip Advisor. we never book a trip without researching on Trip Advisor. This website is all you will ever need to research hotels. The comments are always right on. What a valuable service to travelers!! Thank you Trip Advisor!!!!

Absolutely fabulous!

We had the opportunity to spend a week at Runaway Beach Club at the beginning of June, and I have to say that it is the best place I have ever stayed in the Orlando area. We had a two bedroom villa that easily fit my husband and three kids. What's more, the villa had a loft area with an air hockey table and a Playstation game system that was great for occupying the kids when we weren't at the parks.

The washer and dryer right in the room came in really handy for washing all the clothes after the full days in the parks. Also, each room had its own TV and DVD player, so the kids could watch their own movie while my husband and I relaxed.

Overall, Runaway Beach Club made our vacation one of the best we've ever taken. It was clean and up-to-date, the staff was very friendly and extremely accomodating, and the location was in the middle of all the attractions. We literally could get from our door to the gate of any of the parks in less that ten minutes. This place is a must stay for any family going to Orlando! It truly is wonderful!

We went on this twice cos we loved it so much! There was a also a giant drop style ride- but not as hairy- more water rides and a lethal Weapon style rollercoaster in the Harry Potter area. We went to do a last ride in the Harry Potter area and we didn't realise it ...

... spots to find before solving your "case" in just the one country. So doing it for each country would really be a time suck.

Even with spending two days here, we never did get to see everything on our list. We only touched on each of the countries and didn't even get into the Innoventions buildings. This park seems to either be a love it or hate it one, and I guess it depends on if you like intense rides only or enjoy walking around seeing the sites and exploring.
