This hotel is definitely looking run down and needs a complete face lift, but that is not why I have given it a one-star rating. They had a jazz festival on the grounds the last night of our stay in Papeete and the festival literally took over the whole hotel. The manager was no where to be found (as he was reportedly enjoying the festival). Finally, at 1:30 am, the festival ended and all the paying guests had a sleepless night. We've never experienced such blatant disregard for guests.

We did not get the chance to go into the water. The road condition was not that great, very bumpy, so it took longer. It started raining around 3. And we got back on the ship around 4. A hot shower to wash away ...

... t incidentally, drunk I mean - not at those prices! At around $8+ a pint it’s definitely worth starting your drinking sessions early in order to catch the happy hours. Annie, now you know why the staff all treated us like old friends when we went for a drink in The Crown on our last night ;o)

On our last night we received an e-mail telling us that there was disruption to our flight to Tahiti the next day. Groan – this was going to be ...
