This hotel is definitely looking run down and needs a complete face lift, but that is not why I have given it a one-star rating. They had a jazz festival on the grounds the last night of our stay in Papeete and the festival literally took over the whole hotel. The manager was no where to be found (as he was reportedly enjoying the festival). Finally, at 1:30 am, the festival ended and all the paying guests had a sleepless night. We've never experienced such blatant disregard for guests.

Many thoughts about the end of our trip have gone through my mind these last few weeks of our trip. Conversations with myself about what I have learned on this voyage, what surprised me, which of my views have changed, what the kids will take away with them from these adventures, the …

... to a big car park and not much else, on the eastern side of Mo'orea. Emeric, the husband of our host couple was there to meet us. The ride around the coast was 20k and didn't take long. The island is 60k around and has 17,000 habitants, with no real town as such. The wife is a teacher at the local lycée; they have a couple of kids verging on teenery. They've been here a couple of years and come from Angouleme. We were in yet another garage with a shower in the open air. ...

... they brew the beer in the bar, and then a second because, unbeknownst to us, it was Happy Hour. It reminded us of Calvi, sitting under umbrellas outside. We wandered around the kitchen vans looking at menus for sometime, unable to make up our mind. It started to rain, quite heavily, and we eventually had fried duck and chicken under a quickly erected awning. We couldn't finish it all so we asked for a doggy bag and then made our way home as the weather turned miserable. Up the long hill to ...

I woke up early for the sunrise and it was great this morning. This really is a panoramic bungalow. I am lucky we got this one because they classify 29 bungalows as panoramic and I would say twenty of them have panoramic views of other bungalows. I went back to bed and figured we would get some more sleep before snorkeling.

When I woke up, I walked out to the terrace and ...

The last two days have been filled with sun, sea, sand and culture it has been truly amazing. Andy and I spent most of Friday by the pool enjoying the view of Moorea whilst being served cocktails at the swim up pool bar, that was also an infinity pool. We both feel completely relaxed and ready to enjoy the rest of our trip. The resort we ...
