Papeete - Tahiti

I’ll not talk much of Tahiti, except to say it is a nice place to spend a couple of days.It is a lovely island and well worth renting a car to drive the road that follows the coastline. The Roulette, evening dining experience on the Papeete waterfront on our last night was a good way …

Oh we have been so busy lately we hired a small canoe to go all around Bora Bora. We all trailed off and found on the beach ten canoes we then saw a small stall with a older man who was having a nap we unfortunately had to wake him up. He was a lovely man and gave us a nice discount on the canoes $72.91 australian dollars.

Few Great Trips Go Without a Hitch

Nearly the last to leave, we disembark from the Paul Gauguin at 10:00 am. Our perfectly orchestrated cruise was over and we began our long journey back to real life. Greg at Azumano Travel in Portland, Oregon did an amazing job to ensure that 80 corporate guests had the time of their lives. His behind-the-scenes coordination of group activities and …

In Papeete, Wherever in the World That Is

After getting slightly acclimated to the cold in Tokyo, we got back on an airplane and flew 11 hours directly south to Papeete, Tahiti, in French Polynesia. Papeete is the main port and airport and the island of Tahiti is the center of commerce for all the island. Usually when one thinks of Tahiti, they think of deserted islands with white sand …

This hotel is definitely looking run down and needs a complete face lift, but that is not why I have given it a one-star rating. They had a jazz festival on the grounds the last night of our stay in Papeete and the festival literally took over the whole hotel. The manager was no where to be found (as he was reportedly enjoying the festival). Finally, at 1:30 am, the festival ended and all the paying guests had a sleepless night. We've never experienced such blatant disregard for guests.
