... cool in the temperature sense but as we came down by the lake it warmed up and we could spend the rest of the day driving with the roof down at around 50mph, anything faster and it’s too noisy/windy.

Our first stop was at a small beach by the lake were we laid down for a bit the water wasn’t really deep enough here to go in and the sand wasn’t so nice so we moved on after about 45 min. We nipped to a shop and picked ...

Got up early and headed east toward Carson City, through the ElDorado Forest reaching 7000ft.The snow was quite deep, such a pretty picture..We stopped at Lake Tahoe and walked along the edge of the lake, very cold but extremely picturesque.
We reached Navada and drove onward and will try and reach Ely by nightfall. Saw some deer crossing the highway, poor things hope they were ok..Arrived in Ely around 8.30 and had dinner at the Hotel Navada.

We tried out Boomerang which left your stomach behind and then for a change of pace checked out some ...

... covering so many miles! ........Perhaps I'm being a tad defensive? No the boat ride was just beautiful and really made me feel like I am on vacation. As you can see from the milage and feet I had a much easier day than previous days, and I should be able to make some better milage at least until I get to the next mountain pass (Mt. Lassen). It is very hot up here in the mountains in the 90's every day I ...

... several times but never on my "Betty" and never loaded up with 65ish lbs. of gear, food and water. What bothered me about the climb was that I was going to stop traffic, because the road is so narrow. I think it is the "midwesterner" in me. It got so bad that as I worked my way closer to the "climb", I convinced my self that I was going to sit at the bottom of the hill with a sign that said "Please help me to the ...
