I did not sleep at all well last night. It was extremely cold in the tent, probably because of the clearness of the sky, my feet and indeed my whole body were cold despite my usually reliable sleeping bag. This, coupled with the exertions of yesterday, mean that I don't full of energy in the morning, but I must press on regardless.

Its another beautiful sunny day, we are indeed very lucky so far on this trek. I start the day after eating breakfast with ...

We first learnt how to move up and down with one foot strapped in. Once we got the hang of that we moved to a little slope where we learnt to board down and then stop by taking off one foot. We tried out Boomerang which left your stomach behind and then for a change of pace checked out some ...

... covering so many miles! ........Perhaps I'm being a tad defensive? No the boat ride was just beautiful and really made me feel like I am on vacation. As you can see from the milage and feet I had a much easier day than previous days, and I should be able to make some better milage at least until I get to the next mountain pass (Mt. Lassen). It is very hot up here in the mountains in the 90's every day I ...

... several times but never on my "Betty" and never loaded up with 65ish lbs. of gear, food and water. What bothered me about the climb was that I was going to stop traffic, because the road is so narrow. I think it is the "midwesterner" in me. It got so bad that as I worked my way closer to the "climb", I convinced my self that I was going to sit at the bottom of the hill with a sign that said "Please help me to the ...
