Sometimes however, my gadgets do get me in trouble, for instance someone at home rang our doorbell at 4am this morning Caribbean time so my mobile very kindly let me know - why didn't I switch that off before we left??     ... recover a little bit, because we were very tired. Afterwards we met up with Ailed again, and because she and I were hungry, we went to eat some sushi in the city in a little shop that looked like not too many tourists go there. I had some strawberry sushi, house creation. Twelve rolls for 3.50€, very good deal. And very yummy on top.     ... to the beach and everybody else from the Raza en Playa whatsapp group was there enjoying the sun and the sea. We basked in the sun, read, chat, swim.

    We went to have lunch to Los Aguachiles. They had delicious food, we try the figurines (lettuce tacos), a full grilled octopus, aguachiles, tostadas and Huesos even tried a good mezcal from Oaxaca. It was a great lunch.

Our tour guide was fantastic and was able to tell us so much about the history of the Mayan people, right down to the details of a ball game that was played where the captain for the winning team was decapitated! Why the winner? Well when you offer a sacrifice you only offer the best. And why did people want to win? Well the winner was seen as the lucky one who had a direct passage to a better life!
