... Prior to that, we signed up for a next day scuba trip with Maui Dive Center. The girl working there never heard of SDI, which is a bit scary, but whatever. M and I signed up for a Molokini 2 dive trip for the following day. We also learned that Hawaii does not honor daylight savings time, and we were therefore THREE hours ahead, not two. FYI. :)

... up the volcano "Haleakala". It takes over 2 hours to drive to the top and the elevation is over 10,000 feet. It was just stunning views all around. From Bangkok, the two of us took a very long flight to Hawaii, stopping a few times in Asia and then crossing the International Date Line. Altogether, we traveled for around 20 hours. My stay on the Big Island was wonderful. I was lucky enough to travel with some really great people. I attended some great musical performances. Explored Volcano National Park.
