After the bus ride from Konya to Anatalya of about 5 hours, we waited at the junction for a minibus to Olympos, where we were to stay in a tree house. The place is just a short walk from the Roman ruins, and the Med. So, here we are, on ...
Olympos, Antalya Province, Turkey jathomaz... booze stash but the guy wanted 500 euro for it. anyhow, the weather was great, we did some swimming, hanging out and a lot of just lazing about and doing nothing on the deck. we also were able to sleep outside on the deck underneath the stars (which sounded better than it was, because it got windy at night sometimes). one night we went to this boat access only beach bar where the only ...
Olympos, Antalya, Turkey christina_lam... find myself analysing the "new me" in random reflections to try and discern what person the scraggly mess has transformed me into. I usually decide I look like a random traveller who has not bothered to shave for a couple of weeks, and is in desperate need of at least a little TLC ;)
Will I keep the mess? Time will tell I guess, I will decide when I next get the opportunity to do something about it!
... course! Anyway didnt give a damn as had spotted some comfy looking sun loungers out the front and didnt fancy sleeping downstairs in the heat.
We had a grand mix of people with 9 Aussies, 2 sound Dutch lads, an English family (who were probably having second thoughts at this point!) and another English Lady who I ended up traveling with for a few weeks Toni.
The first night as always starts off with breaking the ice with a beer or two before ...
... the launching spot, thanks to the scared girlfriend who allowed me to get my butterflies out during her own moment of freak out.
I don't know what is best about the two mid air pictures Kristen got.
1. Is it that the scared girlfriend is up on the rocks smiling throughout the jump?
2. Is it that immediately after take off my right wrist is incredibly limp...?
3. Is it that about 3 meters from the water, I have a look of sheer terror on my face?
4. Or ...
I can here for a day or two and have been here 4 nights and am only just managing to pry my self away now! Olympos is a valley with hostels and beach and beer and ruins ın a forest and shady cushions and backgammon, table tennis, people, fires comımg out of mountainsıdes and REALLY good food! The pansıon I'm stayıng ın ıs the best, the food ıs awesome, so far dınners have been roast chicken ...
Olympos, Antalya, Turkey sambarker... him on the shores of the island of Nausicca. It took about 5 hours to drive there, which isn't much by hour standards. We are staying in the bohemian little Saban Pension for three nights. Everybody lives in tree houses either on stilts or straight on the ground, and spends their days reclining in hammocks or Turkish cushions and drinking beer and smoking shisha, playing backgammon and reading. Well, this is ...
Olympos, Antalya, Turkey noodlerhead... and bursts into flames upon meeting oxygen. We stayed in a "treehouse" situated in amongst orange trees which was was lovely, but a little too popular for our tastes and made us aware of being on a well trodden tourist path, something both of us are keen to avoid. Thankfully, countries that don't appear on most people's itineraries as a result of warped Western media coverage are on the horizon.
Olympos, Antalya, Turkey vague-abonding... we stopped at Kas for a few hours, where me and Penny who was also sick spent the time taking turns running up and down the stairs of this place to use their bathroom. Was nice to be off the boat for a bit, but still felt grose. took a while to feel 100% again, so the rest of the cruise I was still a bit delicate and not quite right. was pretty ...
Fethiye to Olympos, Turkey shona77... adventure in itself. I am quite looking forward to it. Some time after I retired some Australians checked in. How do I know they were Australian? They were playing a didgereedoo! Much, much later someone else checked in. I can hardly believe they had been out on the town. The most excitement that seemed to be going on last night was that there was a ***** on heat and every dog in the neighborhood (and there are lots and lots of them) had got wind of it. Monday 24th October Woken ...
