... island maybe a mile southwest of Guam thats almost uninhabited. The currents underwater were pretty strong but it made the dives so much cooler! The first dive was along the reef ridge on the east side and the second was on the west. For both dives you barely had to swim because the current was so strong so you could litterally just kick it and float on down the reef. Because not a lot of divers make it out here and fisherman are rare there was a ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... what happened after that. - one leg. Id really like to get a chance one day to go back out to South Africa and get in on some cage diving out there. Capetown is the great white capitol of the world and they have some really awesome programs out there. So if anyone wants to know what I want for christmas.... haha <br>Shortly after the dive I had to go back and crash to be able to prepare for a mission going out early Sunday morning. After waking up in the middle of ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... fall hurt just a bit .. youll see in the video my form wasnt exactly "smooth" haha. So if theres any doubters out there... I HAVE hit puberty as of today! The hike back was a different route but was very similiar to the way there. We encountered a lot of sawgrass, had amazing scenic views of the mountains, and got our fair share of Boonie Mud! copy and paste in your browser to watch..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTJ57wip An8
Yigo, Guam guamblog... spent exploring the Tokai Maru which lies evenly on the seafloor at about 50-60 feet. We had a significantly longer dive using less air and pretty much had the chance to scope past the entire ship right side of the ship and some of the left. The ropes and ladders still lay on the deck and are very well preserved. Being the first time I saw the ship and a little overwhelmed I didnt really get a chance to research before the parts of the ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... were losing sunlight and starting to get tired of this river hike, losing hope. We needed to get back to the truck before the sun went down or we'd pretty much be Screwed. So another bright decision, we started bushwacking (without a machete.. my next purchase) and did this for about an hour, trying to find a path that would lead us in the direction of the car. It was pretty much all 7 foot tall sword grass that we were climbing through so ...
Tumon, Guam guamblogSo of all the military bases I have been to, Andersen AFB has the most beautiful lookout spot. There are some cliffs facing the East Pacific that we climbed and have came numerous times to watch the Sunrise/ storms and just to hang out and relax. There is a pretty big hanging rock that Ive bouldered up for most of these pictures that gives you just a spectacular view
Tumon, Guam travellerhans... Crabs, of all animals, like to cross the road in large groups. They are not exactly easy to dodge, so many of them become permanently implanted in the asphalt. The two lovers point on the North End of Tumon provides for some awesome views and also helps one realize how vast the Ocean that surrounds this small island really is. There are many ...
Tumon, Guam polakpete... WWII. Our host, Margaret, told us stories from her family and friends about the time of occupation. The horrors experienced by the residents and subsequent rescue by American forces explains their fierce loyalty and pride in being a US territory. This site also details the Memorial.
Agana, Guam joelle... This makes for some incredible snorkeling and scuba diving (much of the crew got qualified, but I didn't have time to take the on-ship classes before pulling in to port). As we waded out into the calm, lapping water, we looked through our masks to the floor of the bay. White sand... shells... no fish! As I was about to ask Chris if he saw any fish, I raised my view closer to the surface, and saw hundreds of fish gliding past me, only 20 feet from the beach! As we swam ...
