From vacation planning to visit to EPCOT
Like any of our trips I always researched about the places we're going to visit and Orlando is no different even though this is not our first visit. I frequented the TA Orlando Forum and I learned a lot of tips.
I signed up for mousesaver where they send you a monthly newsletter with valuable information. From time to time they also send an …
Marriott Cypress Harbour Villa
The last time we were in Florida we spent every day in the park from early morning extra magic hour to late firework shows. It was exhausting. By the time our vacation was over we needed another vacation. This time we made sure we have a rest day after park day. Today, we planned to explore Marriott Cypress Harbour. We thought we will walk quite a …
Disney Holywood Studio
I wanted to arrive early to see the rope drop but it never happened. We saw Minnie, Tigger and Eeyore as we walked towards the sorcerer's hat. We already had Minnie's autograph and picture so we proceeded to lined up to have picture with Tigger and Eeyore. Then we headed to Pixar Place to ride the Toy Story Mania. We asked the CM if we can use …
SeaWorld
I was surprised to see DS already dressed up before 0800. He said, "Let me guess you don't want to leave early because there’s no rope drop in SeaWorld". It’s true but SeaWorld is close that we can be there in 2 minutes.
When we arrived at Sea World, we stopped by Guest Services window to inquire about dining reservation. They …

Historical Traveler Reviews Marriott's Cypress Harbour Orlando
The Best So Far
We have just returned from Cypress Harbour (29/8/03) after spending 2 weeks there with our two boys 8 and 10. The villa was wonderful, very spacious with everything you could possibly need. This resort is extremely family friendly and the staff are so very helpful and accomodating. The service is first class. Another aspect we were really surprised at was the value for money we got at the resort. NOTHING is overpriced, the poolside drinks were the cheapest we have EVER paid at an Orlando resort, along with the items purchased from the Marketplace. You will certainly not be ripped off here. A previous review compares Cypress Harbour to the Grande Vista so we took a look for ourselves. What we found was the Grande Vista grounds and buildings are definately much brighter in decor and looks much newer, and the pavements and balconies leading to the villas were cleaner. However the layout of the Cypress Harbour is much more appealing, being more spread out with lots of isolated relaxing spots if required. There is a perfect balance between lively and calm. The Grande Vista didn't seem to have this. This is definately the best resort we have stayed in on our many visits to Orlando.
Can't stand up to Grande Vista-What a disapointment !!!!!
Dirty broken sidewalks, areas of broken sidewalk are painted yellow to alert people so they don't trip. Sidewalks unswept or cleaned. Ant infestation at the pool areas. Ants were all over the pool furnature.
Spider & comwebs on exterior walls and walkways. Broken loose tiles in master bedroom. Landscaping is very drab. Ants were in our 9 year old daughter's room. Spider eggs on exterior walls. They should try power washing. The units are a drab gray on the exterior. We own at Marriott's Grande Vista but were unable to get in there this time due to short notice so we tried Cypress Harbour. We were told it was 5 star. Well, if Cypress is 5 star, then Grande Vista must be 8 STAR!!!
We will not go back to Orlando if it means we are stuck with Cypress Harbour. Marriott, this place should be up to the standard you imposed at Grande Vista.
Yours truly, Disapointed in NJ.
Great place for the family...
Just got back today from Cypress Harbour. Wonderful place to stay, very clean, housekeeping came everyday. Amenities were excellent as was the 2 bedroom villa that we stayed in. The kids did not want to leave.
Hardly any pressure to buy a timeshare, but did receive a call from a Marriott rep the 2nd day there promising a free breakfast and free tickets to a theme park if we attended a presentation. We were too busy to go and expected a call back but no one contacted us further. We rented it for a wk from Marriott's website and the price was great for what we received. My only problem was the early checkout time of 10 am.
I also felt that the villa we got was one of their best as it provided views of the complex and lake that were great. Im not so sure that if I had bought in that I would get that villa that I stayed in. Why buy a timeshare here when I could rent it for a great price and not be locked into anything. Overall a great place and the price was right.
Cypress was great
Stayed in July. Very family friendly hotel. Have no complaints really.
Tho only aspect that could do with some improvement coule be alternative snack restaurants to Pizza Hut. The Service was brilliant and standard of accomodation top quailty. Created a good holiday atmosphere and lots to do in the resort grounds.Would definately recommend this location as also close to theme parks etc.
The Best
Our family stayed here in July of 2003 and I can tell you we will never stay anywhere else again when going to Orlando. There were 6 of us and stayed very comfortably in the large villa. It was decoreated beautifully. The amenities the Cypress Harbour has to offer are endless. There are plenty of things to do in the Activity Center for children of all ages, even teen-agers and there are constant planned activities. The security was constantly visible. The entire staff from housekeeping to maintanence to lobby personnel were always friendly.
Don't waiste time looking any further - STAY HERE!!!
July 2003
Cypress Harbour is a pretty place and met most of our expectations since we're used to Hyatt quality at our home timeshare. Our biggest complaint was the checkin. We arrived a bit early and were given a beeper for when our poolside unit would be ready. We toured the surroundings, ate lunch, waited and waited.... At 4 lots of people were getting their rooms as soon as they entered the lobby. O.K. Maybe the holdup was because they were going to put us in an unit by one of the pools. Still the beeper didn't go off. A storm is threatening outside and finally after over 3 hour's wait my patience is wearing thin. I go to the desk and it's oh yes your unit is ready. It's nowhere near the pools either. The unit was nice though and almost as nice as our home timeshare unit in size and decor. It would have been nice if the maids had come in once in the middle of the week as our home timeshare does, to replace towels or at least give us new small bars of soap. A welcome briefing would have been nice too. It was a couple of days before I realized trash was supposed to go in a trash room, instead of staff picking it up outside our door. We couldn't open our patio/balcony door and never had anyone come to repair that problem. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.
A wonderful place!
We stayed at Cypress Harbour with our 2 children during Easter Week 2003. It was a wonderful time. The timeshare unit was beautiful. Its very large, so my wife and I felt like we had some privacy even with the kids around. The service is excellent. If there are any problems with the apartment, just leave a note with the gate attendant on your way out, and the problem is fixed before you get back that night. We did this when we found our toaster wasn't working very well. We had a brand new toaster waiting for us when we returned. The grounds are exceptional - several pools and beautiful landscaping. They have an activity center with a basketball court, arcade, board games, etc. We rented a bicycle for 4 (the kids insisted), and used it only for 10 minutes or so. The attendandt asked if all was ok, which it was. He felt bad that we only used it for a short time, so he gave us a free rental of a boat to make up for it. Great stuff! We can't wait to go back there again...
A great place to stay
This is a beautiful place, a dream come true. You won't regret a stay here. Good for all ages. We stayed in a lovely room with two bedrooms, a juccuzi tub in one, full kitchen, a deck overlooking the lake. Awesome.
Great Choice
I'll try to make this thorough as I'm the type of traveler that likes to know WHERE I'm staying and the conditions I'll be staying in. We (two adults and 2 teens) stayed at the Cypress Harbour and loved it. It is spacious enough four adults and children. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. Rooms are clean. It has a nice kitchen area for cooking. We actually did most of our eating at the resort by cooking. It saves alot of money. There's grocery stores within driving distance where you can stock up on groceries. In addition there's a great number of restaurants in close proximity as well as other stores within the town. On-site is a Pizza Hut (at the pool area), a pool bar and a small marketplace. You really do NOT have to leave the resort for fun and relaxation. We wish we had more time to enjoy the resort itself. If you are a AAA member, rates are discounted.
It was great!
We stayed at the resort January 2000 and we were so happy there. We had exchanged our week at our timeshare and were aprehensive about doing it. What a shock! This resort more than surpassed our expectations. The resort is beautiful...well maintained...so many planned activites and events. You could easily spend the whole week there and not have done everything. The villas are 2 BR with a full kitchen, balcony (screened in), w/d, 2 bathrooms, huge whirlpool in Master BR. Plenty of space for everyone to really spread out. We loved it.
