Hope Island, Queensland, Australia loopyl00... their various hotels motels etc and finally we arrived at our hotel The Travelodge Mirrabeena was the name of the hotel and it was a glorified Motel, we arrived at 1.30 pm and i thought OK lets see how rigid there are to the 2 pm check in and sure enough fronted the desk and the bloke says sorry sir but you cant book in till 2 pm your room is not ready yet, the other receptionist said leave it with me and she then sorted out a few things and bingo we had our room ...
Mount Gravatt, Queensland, Australia rossport... so bad that AR had to be relocated due to some friendly power boat person dropping his anchor not more the a few feet in front, just off AR's bow..................not leaving us any swinging room................and it would be us that would hit them and them would be most upset..........................so we moved. MrJ and I rolled the covers partially back, hauled in our anchor, motored out to the back of the pack and dropped anchor once more....................out with ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nancyjean... first people on the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster for the day. We ran our hearts out and ended up being in the second lot of people to go on, which wasn't bad. We were able to run through and hop straight on the ride. When we got off the spooky coaster, we met up with Dad and the 5 of us headed onto the Wild West Falls. For a hot day it was really nice to have the relaxing splash of the cool water. Once we had finished the ride, we ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... was ... "yea, I want to ... I wanna go ..." belive me people, I wanna go to so many places, see different people, cultures, feel their vibe, just look at what they are doing ... wake up with the sunrise and you know ... anyway I continued: "but see I have to get a job and start doing something, I'm not 20 anymore" she gave me that look ... and said: "but you know - you're gonna live until you are 80 or maybe 90, there is plenty of time to work ...
Miami, Australia zalazala... it's laid back and relaxed. We visited Byron again one weekend on our way to Yamba, which is just below Byron bay. Yamba has the same lovely beaches - lots that are apparently good for surfing, and laid back feel as Byron but is less developed, however I suspect not for long. For the next few weeks we stayed on the Gold Coast with Nick's auntie Julie. Julie shared with us many of here favourite eating places including the Woodchoppers Inn at Mudgubar, Indian ...
Gold Coast, Australia kathrynandnick... nice as well. We had a complimentary dinner on the plane. I choose pasta of course and it was really good. Because of all the time changes between BC, LA and Australia I left on Friday and landed in Brisbane, Australia on Sunday. It was really weird, I woke up at 4am Brisbane time and our plane was expected to land in Brisbane at 6:05am. We were serviced a complimentary breakfast as well at 5am, I didn't eat though because I wasn't hungry.

Brisbane, Australia katandhal... couple more years to now (well, actually to late last year when I was in the Blue Mountains). I'm checking my email to discover a message from Amy telling me that she's heard over the grapevine that I'm in OZ. Well, she too is in OZ, Melbourne specifically. So two or three years and thousands of miles later, Melb will be the site for a little Ryerson reunion. I love that story. One more week to go, I hope my anticipation doesn't cause this week to drag on too much.
Brisbane, Australia chattermouth... Like I said, details were hazy at best. The next day Jon looked like an embattled brawler (I suggested that when people eventually asked him what happened to his face to simply reply with "you should see the other guy"), his right eye was purple and swollen nearly shut. Thankfully, he didn't remember much, I was of no help either. Dahu strikes again. As I boarded the bus, gravely hungover and already missing my friends, the sun finally broke loose, bathing the coast in a golden hue.
