If you were told that there were rare West Indian Whistling Ducks roosting at the bird sanctuary at the front of the hotel, you'd be curious, wouldn't you? And so were we, which is why David, Elaine and myself took a break from all this sunbathing business and went to have a look for these intriguing creatures.

... people not trying to get to Gatwick we just drove round and round Sunbury, Shepperton and Upper Haliford for an hour getting stopped all the time by horendous non-moving traffic. I was getting frantic and at one point actually said "sod it, let's go home. Forget the holiday."

... is only 15 miles away. There we need to do some duty free chandlery shopping!!! And another thing! I can't have a rage about the bloody french as i already have!!!! but....Why do boat loads of teenagers come and anchor next to us in a very expensive boat where the girls are wearing THE smallest bikinis you have ever seen and I end up with a stiff neck from looking in the opposite direction so as not to be accused of being an old letch? It's bloody tough out ...
