... the children's play area was fantastic! They have a bouncy castle built into the ground. We loved playing on the different toys….like big kids! We also had to see "The Spit" (a lighthouse and a long pathway out to the lighthouse) where the waves come over the land rapidly swallowing the path we walked on. Garrick also explained that there were 3 wild Leather back turtles that live around The Spit (sadly we didn’t manage to see them ...

Today we spent the day at Movieworld, I watched as the Clint and Harley went on all the crazy rides. Torah hit a couple that she was tall enough for but lucked out(I think she was secretly pleased) on the Green Lantern & Superman! Harley had a hat made here with his name on it in graffiti style writing-it was drawn free hand in a store at Movieworld. He & I were amazed at the talent of the guy doing ...

... bro's was a great day, and they had some really good rides there. Wet 'n wild was also a good day out, with some superb water slides. We found ourselves very grateful for the theme parks, as they were the only good thing about Gold Coast! The parks were the sole reason we included GC in our plans, so I guess it makes sense. The people of Australia as a general rule we found rude and abrasive, and putting our NZ inherited pre-conceptions aside, I genuinely found ...

... bus stop to be picked up by the hostel, Surf n' Sun. Arrived at hostel and checked in. Nice location as we were only about 100m from the beach. We were in a 6 bed shared dorm with en-suite. Not bad too. Had a girl in the room who was almost living there as she was looking for a job. Went to the Supermarket to get some lunch and supplies for the next few days. Had lunch, then ventured to the beach for a few hours. Lovely and hot. Surfers Paradise wouldn't look out of place ...

    Surfers Paradise

I decided to spend the morning sunbathing, so after I'd had breakfast and checked out I went a laid by the pool. I've quite enjoyed my time at surfers, even if it has been a little lonely! After sunbathing pretty much all morning Kirsten said she could meet me for 10mins before I leave, I had to pop to Coles anyways to get some bits for lunch, so I waited in town to hear from her but she didn't have time ect.. So I walked back to hostel and had lunch and it started to rain! Was crazy!! ...
