    We left Sydney via the Royal National Park. It is one of the key locations in Maggie's next book - "Outback Promise" (to be published in November 2015). This was our lovely picnic spot.

    ... to put on our CV, and was recommended to do. The course was a long six hours and included an exam at the end, although no one could fail it. The course itself was a real eye opener for both of us, and there was some hefty fines out there for us if we didn't follow the book. A lot different from back home. We both passed and are now qualified in New South Wales to serve alcohol! Just in time as we were going out on the town the following nigth to celebrate ...

    ... is pretty amazing. Even near the city center it sounded like the middle of a rainforest. Some of the birds were beautiful, and their song is wonderful to hear.

    Even on the way to the Opera House is was like walking through the reptile/amphibian area of a zoo with all the frogs and other animals making noises.

    ... As such, Captain Cook set sail, headed to explore Van Demons Land (or Tasmania). First, Cook circumnavigated both New Zealand islands, drawing maps as he went (Cook was known for drawing very accurate coastline maps). However, on his way to Tasmania, he encountered bad weather in the Tasman Sea and was blown off course. Instead, he hit Botany Bay just outside Sydney.     ... What can I say except the Internet doesn't always tell the truth...the coin box next to the bed to make it vibrate and the neighbour was having a very spirited conversation about drug rehab and government assistance made for an interesting arrival...... Have travelled 697 km to end up in Gosford's equivalent lol. But the great news is that the rail trail starts 500m up the road and looks wonderful. Off to Beechworth ...
