    ... truck, park up and tell you its too dangerous to swim, to look after your children and swim within the blue flags. Of course, this is France so most people ignore them but no-one was swimming out of their depth as the crashing waves made it too diificult, anyhow.

    ... and tried out several of the famous tapas bars in the old area of the city. The beach views were spectacular from the funicular. Weather has been a mixture of rain, sun and wind - a bit like Melbourne!! There was plenty of time to hit the shops and find some footwear bargains.

    It was a fairly quick trip across borders to St Jean de Luz, a lovely town, and certainly easy to spend a couple of days, which we did on a relaxed campsite, doing very little!

    I put my head down and got on with it, picking up Spartacus and a train of Brits once we hit the final leg. It was a good ride, and I finished 16th woman. In an ironic twist of fate, John missed a turnoff somewhere in that last 60km and didn't end up completing the course. Some of the intersections were not marshalled very well.     Finally had a bit of a sleep in today :) squeezed ourselves and our bags into our new tent haha.
    Headed into town on the bus finally, went to the info centre to find out about what to see and do, got some free wifi from maccas and planned to meet Sarah, Marcus, Drew and co. at night for some pre bday dinner and drinks for Stacey.
