We were talking to our new friend
Florian (Flo, he doesn’t like Florian because he thinks it’s too
hoity toity) who works at the school also and he said that we should
stay longer in Nice and travel around to all the small towns outside
of Nice and skip going to Lyon. He also said that Marseille isn’t
that nice of a city, but I guess we’ll find out ...
We woke to torrential rain. In fact much of the night was torrential rain so it was no surprise we were next to a very large puddle. After breakfast in the camp common room we were sent to Bages , a tiny village where, to our amazement, there was a bike shop with the right size tyre and inner tube for P&Ps tandem - phew! Then onwards for a day crossing the Medoc. The highlight ...
A slightly early start this morning - misreading of watch with backlighting got us up by 6.30! Impressive or what! 8.20 kick off and we shopping in Bordeaux by 10. Bouliac has an impressive shopping centre for all our food shopping requirements, a bike shop for Pat and Pam's overshoes, and a coffee brew up next to the shopping centre car park! We had a smooth journey through Bordeaux before lunching by a lake whilst the tents dried. ...
My schedule is pretty good actually.
Before arriving in France I had asked if I could have either a Monday
or Friday off, this way I would be able to make some weekend trips if
I wanted to. I was lucky and now have Friday, Saturday, Sunday to
myself and to spend with the other assistants who are living in
Rochefort. And during my school days I only work an average of 3
