Krakow was the one city's that Marilyn really wanted to visit. I on the other hand did not know much about it & didn't know what to expect. So far it has been one of our favourite destinations. We stayed at a pension called Tango House, which was 1 block from the centre of the "Old City" (a great location). We arrived into Krakow Poland, on the night train from Vienna. The train station is new (just opened 3 months) and is connected to ...

After waving goodbye to Rach, I jumped on a different train which took me to the bus station, and was soon enough on a bus to Cesky Krumlov in the southern Czech Republic. The trip took just under three hours and on arrival I shouldered my pack, not for the first time wished for a trolley case, and set off into town. ... interior restoration and modernization works. Our guide Stanislaus introduced us to this beautiful city pointing out the highlights as we looked left and right. Okay, here we go again -- what are the odds of meeting Susan and Jimmy three hours from Prague? Probably a zillion to one, so why should anyone be surprised that we crossed paths with them twice within a two hour period. They were on their way to Vienna, but stopped off in Cesky Krumlov for lunch and ...

... the castle. We were lucky to find it as we just turned up without a booking for anywhere and had a look around.

The next day we got up early, we had a mega ride planned. I had sketched out a route on the map which covered lots of scenic roads, eventually winding its way down to the Sumava/Boemian forest then across to our next destination, Cesky Krumlov.
What a day! What a ride. I'm still breathtaken and I still think, even with the rest of the ...
