... is stronger than gravity, so we found him an opening and set the parking brake. The hostel was pretty quiet, save for one lonely girl hard at work on her laptop. We were starving, and since Menna had been here before, she was dying to go to an Argentinian steak house she knew of...her treat. I like this place already. I can see why she wanted to come back here. The steaks we got were big, juicy, and all-around awesome. They were a bit ...

... I would love to come back too...will check out timeshare when I get home. It was Sunday and the beautiful church was full. Not many of the shops were open at this hour and we were able to have a good look around as well as get some great photos. There are fabulous bronze statues and sculptures all the way ...

... I was pleasantly relieved when I tried it on later and liked it.
When we went downtown we walked down by the Malecon along the ocean. The city has redone it and it is so relaxing as the cars can't drive there any more. We had lunch at the Cheeky Monkey that someone had told us about last year. It's on the second floor overlooking the ocean so is a great view. We didn't mind at all that the service was a little slow. As we were walking along the Malecon we sat ...

      ... and sugar skulls.

Initially we felt like intruders. We hesitated to turn people's sadness into photo opportunities so we just observed. That is, until our restaurant owner buddy, Josue, explained: "That's what it's there for! Besides, people aren't sad. Their loved ones are in a better place. They're celebrating. And... they're all hoping to win first prize".

Not sure who won in the end but the Smoking Granny gets my vote!
