Yet another early morning before yet another long drive. We scoffed down a quick cereal breakfast and pinched some of the little takeaway packets of Nutella they have on offer (apparently they go through THREE BOXES A DAY because mostly of Australians stealing it all because we're so amazed by the availability of the stuff for free) before clearing out our rooms. Today wasn't terribly eventful because it was just a drive day, but it did involve ...

... pet dogs enjoyed the sunshine and views. (Dogs do go everywhere with their humans here).

The cogwheel train back to the valley ran a few minutes late - as had the one coming up. ... so you can see them. There are ten falls to see and caught a lift up to the 6th one, walked to the tenth and then walked all the way down to the bottom. The roar of the falls was incredible we had to shout to hear each other. The pools of water are blue and the enormity of the falls is hard to capture in words and in photos. The kids enjoyed doing this and were distracted from being wet. They counted all the steps on the way down and thought the falls were ...

... There are no cars, except service vehicles, in Murren and the only way to get there is by cable car or cable car and train, the way we came. After walking through Murren, we boarded another cable car and rode to Birg, a 3500 foot elevation change in 5 minutes, then onto another cable car for the last 2000 feet in 5 minutes to the top of Shilthorn. I love Swiss transportation! Schilthorn is just over 10,000 feet and from there we had a beautiful view of. . . ...
