WE have just returned from Arcadia. What a fantastic Hotel, very clean, fantastic choice of food and restaurants. Drink included some international brands, so something to suit everyone.
The kids animation team were brilliant and kept our 7 year old interested along with her many friend she made. She went horse riding, on the banana boat and made pizza and biscuits to name a few things she did.
This is the first time we have ever spent so much time in the hotel, it was a truly great hotel and we can thoroughly recommend it.
we holidayed here in Nov 2004. We hd 3 great days of weather and 4 days of thunderstorms but that didnt matter the hotel offers so much that we didnt have to go outside these days. Me my partner and son holidayed here and all enjoyed i had no worry about keeping my 3yr old occupied as the kids club did this for me they had the best kids club i have ever came accross. We were in the rooms outwith the hotel and found them well equiped and clean they were cleaned on a dailly basis and fridge refilled with water and soft drinks dailly aswell. The food on offer was excellent as well i dont think i have ever seen my son eat so much with a seperate bit wit kids food. Some of the bars and restaurants were closed at this time in the season but that did not make much difference to our holiday at all. In 6 weeks we return to this hotel for 2 weeks and we all cant wait my son picked this holiday this year so that is a recommendation in itself as we were at florida last year and he opted for this he is just hoping that the girl who worked the kids club is still there and he still remembers her name. I would advise this holiday to anyone couples and families there is something for everyone and anyone who doesnt like must be extremely fussy. Roll on 6 wks .
Going Back Next Year
I am writing this the week before we return to the hotel, for a family the hotel offered us everything. The children are catered for so well, their own buffett, mini disco, swing and slide by pool and on the beach. The childrens pool even has mini toilet and sink. The animation team are fantastic for kids and adults too!! My children were 2 and 5 last year, they were encouraged but not pressured to join in, they made pizza, had their faces painted and my eldest visited the animal zoo.We never had to stress about what the children would eat or stress trying to keep them occupied-slush puppies and ice cream unlimited-limited only by us!!
For us adults the food was fresh and well presented, for my veggie husband they would cook something for him if the dishes on offer we not to his taste. The sports facilites were great, we chose to join in most activites but you are not hassled to do so-darts water polo, football, aerobics, horse riding can be arranged along with golf. Evening entertainment was very varied, we had fireworks one evening.
The belek market is great for fake clothing and good quality one year later the clothes have not fell apart!!
Roll on next week when we are there again!!!
Love it come back in 2007
i love it we are coming next year with 14 people this time
cant wait to come back my best best best best friend is coming
there are more things about this bye see ypou next year
Disappointing, not a 5 star by any rate
We stayed at the Arcadia in March. Unfortunately so did 3 Russian football teams. Every time a door shut the whole building shook. Let's just not go into the manners of these young men.
The food was very bland though there was enough of it.
The Russians made good use of it.
On the positive side, the sun shone brightly and we could sit outside for breakfast. The rooms were basic but very clean. The Turkish bath was wonderful
Certainly not deserving of 5 stars, even pushing 4 stars in our opinion.
We were really put off in the small town when we wanted to buy some t shirts, being told we were fat Germans with big wallets and these were poor little Turks who could not afford even to eat at night. We had come on holiday, even they could not do that. Well, forget about the German bit, this took the edge off.
I think we'll stick to Greece and Spain next time, at least we know what we are getting there.
Just returned from 2 weeks @ the Arcadia hotel 29 - 13 december weather was very hot for november 74 degrees every day.
The hotel complex is breathtaking there are 4 pools but as we went in november it was too cold to go in
but there is a heated indoor swimming pool and steam room and sauna.
Rooms are immaculate cleaned every day, bathrooms are a nice size but the shower is dangerous to get out of
its like getting out of a tank.
entertainment was good from the animation team
there was music quizzes, bingo cabaret and sketches as well.
the best bit for me was the markets on a saturday in the town of belek there is a trip on a thursday to side and managavat market where you have your lunch for 2o euros and then the market comes to belek on a saturday from 9am - 3pm i got chanel sunglasses for 15 lira a Tommy Hillfigger sweat top for 25 lira and a engraved solid silver lighter for 10 lira a Luis Vitton bag for 19 lira the only downside to the markets is that as soon as they see you they start to hassle you not all of them. When i come back next year i will remember to bring my mobile phone as you have to buy phone cards and the nearest phone is 850m
away. Thoroughly enjoyed it got a lovely tan met two fellow scousers got some bargains from the market
Good, but not that good
Went to Arcadia 1st Nov for 7 nights. The hotel grounds are impressive and general areas are clean and tidy, but the standard rooms let it down - they are clean, but basic - not 5*. Unfortunately unbeknown to us this was the end of the season (even though Turkey is now classed as a winter sun destination)and a lot of the hotel facilities shut down whilst we were there, i.e. several of the bars/restaurants, so the choice was not great. Food was nice, but generally the same dishes each day. Be warned about what you can and cannot have as an AI guest - if you tip the waiters you can basically have any drink you want (most of the time), if not the choice of drinks available on AI is not great. Don't let us put you off going to this hotel, in the summer season it would probably be fantastic, but busy, but when we went we were slightly disappointed after reading the great reviews. A must to try is the Turkish bath!
Fantastic fantastic fantastic
me and my partner stayed at the acadia golf resort in may 2005. it was my first holiday abroad and we absolutely loved it. needless to say my expectations are set at high after this resort. the food was fab the rooms were spotless and the resort was clean, one day one of the tiles on the walkway were cracked so one of the workers there replaced it the same day.
i could not of asked for a better holiday, we enjoyed it so much we have booked back there next may only this time my sister and her partner are coming as they were amazed by our holiday snaps. the weather here is gorgeous too, and its right on the beach.
all in all an absolutely fantastic holiday. so if you are looking to holiday in turkey GO TO THE ARCADIA HOTEL ITS MINT!!!!!!

After leaving Egirdir (where travellers are few and far between), we arrived in Antalya, a large modern city on the Mediterranean. We are staying in the old town, where there are once again cobbled streets and not much traffic...but it is definitely a tourist town and a bit too upmarket for us! However, today we walked to the museum and it ...

Next stop was the gorgeous little seaside town of Side which has been built beside the ruins of the Apollo temple - what a stunning spot, from here we headed to the. Aspendos theatre (Turkey's most complete theatre example).

... sleep in we woke up to go to the Antalya museum which I was did not have as high expectations as Jen did (if that is even possible) but when I got there was impressed by the history of just this region. It traces human existence with artefacts from the Stone Age to the 19th century and everything in between. From almost prehistoric frescoes and bone spears, to Flint spears, the rise of pottery, the copper age, Romans ...
... some random town where no one spoke English. We stopped in Konya bus station for lunch at hour 4. Yay, we can go to the toilet and no coins needed! Yay pit toilets and some guy washing his feet in the sink! Lesson learned and now I keep a couple of coins in my pocket in case :p We spoke no Turkish and had trouble ordering lunch, and Jen was too scared she would get food poisoning. Sooooo she ate a big bag of chips then felt sick and ...
We stayed last night outside Antalya near to the airport. It's a district of big monstrosities of hotels each trying to outdo the other in gaudyness. The picture is the view from our hotel room of the next hotel along. It's design is that of the Chrysler building in New York, which has a beautiful elegant tower, but they couldn't just copy it. This hotel has four of ...
