After leaving Hoi An we traveled down the coast by car to a new town for us, Quy Nhon. Quy Nhon is a coastal fishing village that is not really on the tourist map yet, but may soon be. We stayed four nights about 15 minutes south of Quy Nhon in a beachfront hotel called Life Resort. It was quite nice and we met some interesting folk there. It was really a rest stop for us on our way South. We hung out there four days deciding where to go next. The days blended together and now seem like somew...

The row in front of me was full of older women who were all turned looking and snickering at me. I just smiled and thought how good it felt to actually feel like I’m traveling again. The ride was similar to the ride from Vinh to Hanoi in the fact that it had 7 more occupants than legally allowed in most countries, the driver kept one hand on the horn while swerving through traffic, and ...
Quy Nhon, Vietnam tex25... Hello, my name is Keil. How old are you?" in slow well articulated words. He was having troubles with a response so his mom came out of no where and whispered something in his ear. I guessed "Duhm" and held up 8 fingers. He laughed and said "Gen" and held up 9. Just then his big sister came up and watched in excitement as her little brother practiced English with a westerner. I asked him "How are you?" His eyes searched the ocean and running crabs for an answer, he grew too ...
Quy Nhon, Vietnam tex25We tend to either have a really easy, smooth journey between places or a complete nightmare! Getting to Quy Nhon was definitely the second of the two!

We managed to get a bus ticket from Hoi An to Quy Nhon fairly easily but were, unfortunately, turfed off the bus 18km from Quy Nhon! The guys on the bus didn't speak English but we did manage to work out that they weren't, in fact, going through Quy Nhon and this was as far as they were willing to take us ...

The bus ride was about 2 hours shorter than expected, which came as something as a surprise having braced myself for one at least 2 hours longer than quoted. Why not just tell me how long the ride will take? It's not like I've got a choice. Grrrr. I stayed in my ...
Quy Nhon, Vietnam dolly_would...... Barbara we're coming! As first impressions go, we were pleasantly surprised. Tourism is relatively low in Quy Nhon and that showed by the lack of hassle and pressure from hawkers and cyclo drivers. Peace and tranquility at last. Perfect. Once checked in to the Lan Anh hotel, the first day was spent finding a CO-OP Mart and stocking up on all the supplies we have run out of. It has been getting so desperate that during our time in Hoi An I had ...

I don't think that anything caught is a bad catch here, because they literally eat everything here.
