In Samoa gelden traditionele regels. Toch weer € 1,75 ...
... Sometimes half the bus will exit itself to make room for someone to get out, then all those people will load themselves back onto the bus and/or onto someone else's lap or re-arrange themselves accordingly.
One time I was on a crowded bus and we stopped at three different houses all consecutively right after each other and we all had to do that bus shuffle each of those three times to let the people out. Like I said, there are no formal bus ...
... Samoan style. There was alot of coconut, taro and fish. We also had rice every night. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and toast and a few other things.
We went swimming with the turtles - it was more fun feeding them from the edges than swimming in the pond with them as it was pretty murky. The women's handicraft stall was also really good (didn't have any trouble with getting stuff through customs). The buses that operate in Samoa are hilarious -they ...
... the middle of the ocean, Canada manages to send me a nod. I spent an entire week in Savai'i doing little but licking my wounds, reading, swimming, eating, staring out into the ocean from my fale which was spitting distance away from it. I let the sun burn off (literally, unfortunately) all the negativity I'd been feeling before I left for the island and I allowed myself the time to just be. Chasing away the feelings of guilt that I wasn't exploring the ...
Savai'i, Samoa Western karsenault... couple of hours before taking the plane.. Thank you to Sung and Otilia for their hospitability - we recommend their place to everybody!
Matareva, Samoa Western johannajulien... dictionary and apparently a very funny pronunciation of Samoan words. The ferry finally came and 1.5 hours later we were in Salelologa on Savai'i. Salelologa is sadly quite a dirty town with rubbish lining the roads. It's such a pity to see the paradise wasted. We stayed in Lusia's Lagoon Chalets in a gorgeous fale elevated above the lagoon on stilts, very nice place and good food. In the evening we went for a walk and ran into Sebastian and Jasmine - on their way to ...
Falealupo, Samoa Western johannajulien... place. It turned out that we wouldn't get very far at all; on our way out of Salelologa we got a flat tire and had to find a repair shop to fix it. This was done whilst the passengers were on the bus! It's always an adventure to travel by buss in Samoa... About half an hour later we were back on the road heading for Sasina and 90 minutes later we managed to find our Beach Fale in Manase, with the help of some friendly locals. The ...
Väljas oli silt "Watch out!"
Avao, Samoa anneristo... so lots of pictures were taken. Some with daft poses. But frankly the coast was just beautiful in its own right. Once I find a Internet Cafe in NZ with a card reader I'll put them up :-) Dwarf's Cave: Lava Tube - On the last day in Savai'i we hire another car, this time a stronger more off-roady rear wheel drive car. First we visited the Dwarf's Cave which is an extremely impressive lava tube. It's was so cool - that might sound a bit childish - but it was. Our guides were ...
