La<br>excursión era muy divertida. Después, mi familia y yo fuimos al cascadas para<br>nadamos. Las cascadas son muy grandes y bonitas. Hallo allemaal.<br><br>Om 23.00 kwamen we aan bij het vliegveld en we waren net op tijd om het vliegtuig te zien landen. Niet kort erna kwamen Jan en Margreet naar buiten....het was leuk om ze te zien!!<br>We mochten met hun transfer meerijden naar hun hotel en op de kamer hebben we bij gekletst onder het genot van eem lekker koud biertje. De feestvreugde werd even verstoord toen het hotel omsingeld werd door zeven politie auto´s en heel veel politie in kogelvrije ...

We have just come back from spending a few days in Fortuna to see an active Volcano called Arenal, in central Costa Rica. A fitting end to our trip.... Our second last stop was at the base of the most active volcanoe in Central America. Volcan Arenal is located near the town of Fortuna and is constantly spitting out smoke and streams of Lava. Unfortunately the evening was cloudy so we didn't get to see any of the molten lava contrast with the night, but the volcano didn't disappoint while we sat and enjoyed our breakfast on a side street cafe the following morning under its watchful and smokey eye!

... of 87 tourists on the entire island, so seeing 100 people on the same beach was also a bit different. I walked along the beach for a bit and wandered around town, but decided to leave the following morning for Costa Rica. Made it all the way to Monteverde, Costa Rica yesterday, and it's quite similar to Boquete in Panama. ... Zilch - Nada!!!!! We did see lots of plants and trees and we had a lovely morning walk, but I could have done that in Barrow Upon Soar!!! In fact I reckon I would have seen more wildlife in Barrow than we saw on our incredibly expensive nature tour. We did see a huge rat like creature and some African killer bees, through the telescope, a few millipedes and some daddy long legs!!!! No birds, none, let alone a Toucan. Needless to say ...

... and buzzing around as they fed on feeding pendants at the entrance to the park. I managed to photograph the birds and the monkeys and record the sounds of streams and waterfalls on my micropohone. Tried to make some phone calls again, to no avail. The adventure tour company, Extremo picked us up an hour later for our zip line canopy tour which turned out to be a crazy adventure and more than we expected. We did rappeling and a ...

... blocks away, and spent a couple of sleepy hours checking emails, writing the blog, and bemoaning Alinghi (not the Swiss damn it all! - apart from old Blurtarelli, there isn't a Swiss person on that stupid boat) leveling the Americas Cup 2-2. The ride to Monteverde was about an hour and a half of the same road we had taken to get to Puntarenas, and then another hour of a very steep, winding, pot-holed and narrow road up 1500 metres. ... actual lush jungle. Many different animals here, but unfortunately hard to see because of dense canopy. So many American tourists here, but still a great experience. First place along the way that we cooked a meal for ourselves. This has increased since and has added a nice dimension to our trip. The rest of Costa Rica sounds fascinating and it has been a great start so far.
