... taken down to the base of the dam.  Truly spectacular ingenuity to build the dam in 5 years.  One thing I did not know was that the dam, during construction, was built with pipe through it to keep the concrete cool when drying.  Then came another bucket list item.  To walk from Nevada to Arizona.  The dam is built over the Colorado river ...

... Like something out of sci fi movie ! The soaring temperatures now in the mid 40's gave us a couple of problems with the Dodge beginning to overheat .. So it was air con OFF and back to the oven experience of Yosemite! We stopped a 'view break' at Zabrisky Point ... ... They were also teachers so that's always interesting
with talking about homeschooling etc...

We went in to 'the strip' after dinner
(lots of wow and look at that!) but it was so busy we drove a little,
it rained and we came back. It's gotten very hot though so it's
muggy. We won't be cold sleeping tonight like we were at the Grand
Canyon. 7,000 foot elevation was brrrrrr.
