Lao Spirit Resort Luang Prabang

Luang Pra Bang, UNESCO World Heritage site. We've spent the last ten days here, originally we were going to just stay a couple of days and then head off to The Plain of Jars but within the first couple of days of being here Sam was struck with a nasty stomach bug and had to spend a few days recovering. The Lao Spirit Resort sat facing a huge mountain range. Five separate bungalows with their own balcony and outside showers. After some of the guest houses we'd stayed in at Luang Prabang this was pure luxury. We whiled away the days reading books, playing cards and gazing at the mountains or the river below us. Bonjour a tous, Voila bientot une semaine (je crois...le plaisir des vacances a ne pas savoir quel jour de la semaine nous sommes) que vous avez eu de nos nouvelles. We finally managed to rouse ourselves from easy lazy Luang Prabang days and travelled up the Nam Khan [river] to Lao Spirit for a spot of trekking and elephant mahouting. We'd emailed the place from UK, and contacted them from Luang Prabang, but they seem to be only half expecting us. What a lot has happened since our last post. We've been to a waterfall and swum in its many turquoise limestone pools (not many things genuinely deserve the colour tag "turquoise", but this one was a dead cert). We've been on a 15km mountain bike ride to the Lao Spirit Resort elephant camp.
