Shortly after this village, we ascended and descended a huge mountain pass which the truck struggled with at times. The views of the surrounding countryside were spectacular. The heat and the humidity had me very drowsy today and I fell asleep a couple of times before lunch.

Me, Anna and Gemma went to the women's prison for a massage in the morning. Sounds weird, but it was lush. From what I can understand it is an institute for criminals who are learning a skill for when they leave prison. They all seemed very nice though, I'm hoping my lady wasn't a murderer or anything!! Was a cheap way to get a lovely bone crunching massage ;-)

As expected our train arrived late in Chang Mai, over two hours but who's counting. Luckily we were also awoken to the lovely waitress serving our cart offering us coffee and orange juice. I say this very sarcastically because she would not leave us alone. She came through every couple minutes offering the same thing. And the best part was she started at 5:45 AM. We made our way to a hotel where we were allowed to shower (time constraints made it difficult) ...
