    ... a clearing.

We drove miles and miles through the Cascades, with constant elevation changes. At times we were on flat ground, by fluffy yellow fields peppered with dark green trees and the occasional farm, with rectangular bales of hay piled neatly together in blocks. And we saw fields of grazing cows, horses, freshly sheered sheep, and even a few llamas. At other times, we were making passage ...

Nita had a conference call this morning and was concerned the call would be dropped so we left around 10:45 with eta of 4:05. There was a lot of traffic but it flowed very well so we managed to shave off 1/2 hour again and arrived at 3:35. Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.

... roads that were between the north and southbound lanes of I-5 then realized that they parked there for the light rail system. Our campground is north of Redding and I thought it might be cooler since it was close to the mountains. However, when we arrived at the campground and opened the door we knew it wasn't so....It was hot!.

We stayed indoors waiting for a/c to get the motorhome cool. We finally got off our lazy butts and went to the Shasta ...
