... I agreed to find a nice restaurant for our last night in Bali and we found an Italian down on the sea front. She enjoyed lasagne whilst I had carbonara. We had one final ice cream before heading back to the hotel where I watched the last part of a film and she fell asleep. Tomorrow we head home to Bangkok - it seems strange that home is just another Asian country where work awaits us. It's been a good trip, but I think a heavy dose of reality is in high ...

At the end of the tour we got to try on some of the traditional woven dress, and take pictures in front of the Batak villa huts. We ended up buying 2 scarves each. A few funny highlights were a stand off with a crab on the beach, us both stood on the bed screaming like girls because of a bug in our room and amazingly cheap yummy food (we ended up at the same restaurant most nights where ...

... unique growing and harvesting methods.

Watching some of the workers carry out such manual labour knee deep in mud pushing heavy metal harvesters and picking each stalk by hand, made us appreciate how lucky we are back home for the choices we are able to make when it comes to our careers. These people work twice if not three times as hard for pennies and still welcomed us with beaming smiles, indicating once again the humble nature ...

... price to take me where i wanted to go for the day. So i donned his fear and loathing style spare helmet (this is bat country!) and we were off.

I had suspected that the reason soo many people rave about Ubud was not for the town itself, but more for using it as a nice base to see the surrounding sights, indeed, my tour today confirmed this as a real possibility. The first stop on my tour was Goa Gadah, the elephant cave: Goa gadah is set in a serene ...
