Koh Chang: Die Insel ist leicht von Bangkok aus zu erreichen und doch ist man den ganzen Tag unterwegs (im Minibus, auf der Fähre, in einem Taxi,...). Je weiter man in den Süden von Thailand kommt, desto schwüler und heißer wird es. Trotzdem ist es angenehmer als in Bangkok, da die Meeresluft gut tut.

We board a very rusty car ferry. It's bonnet is up (if that's what it's called on a boat) and the engine is being tinkered with - doesn't look too hopeful - but after a good wait of half an hour or so, we chug into life and make the hour long crossing to the east side of the island of Ko Chang. The sun is setting behind two peaks on the island economically named Chom Paraset 1 and Chom Paraset 2.

Koh Chang is the second largest island of Thailand and is geared for tourists. Plenty of bars and restaurants with lots of nightlife.
