... getting used to the breathing, it wasn't too bad! I then have to learn and marts has to demonstrate he can still do some basic skills that you might need under the water such as retrieving your breathing regulator and emptying your mask. We found the best way (while still being economical) to get to Koh Tao from Chiang Mai was to fly to Bangkok and take an overnight bus/ferry combo. So back to Bangkok we went. This time we felt much more comfortable and very familiar with the tourist areas and enjoyed our ten hour stop over. Then finally when they actually talked me through it I realised that if I just controlled my breathing and breathed in as I did it I would then naturally breathe out of my nose and not freak out and inhale salt water.
