Our bus journey from Phnomh Penh was uneventful to say the least although we were able to see an excellent(!) Asian martial arts spoof/comedy/adventure movie. Definitely one of the most bizarre I've seen in a long time. Arriving in Saigon (as I shall refer to it from now on, Ho Chi Minh City is a stupid name, and anyway all the Vietnamese call it Saigon) the initial impression is of a bustling place, overrun with motorbikes. They reckon there's somewhere around 3m of them in the city, with a ...
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam bshortsWell, what a day. We went on a boat trip around some of the islands today, saw some good stuff, ate some great food and drank some beer. Our tour guide was a gentleman named Mui. He was the ultimate showman. At the start he told us what we were to be doing, how long we had and how much extra the attractions would cost. After lunch we endured karaoke with a live backing ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam danandroz... strip, it's not nice to be honest.
the hotel is good, but a business, hilton type affair. the sea id all churned up and the beaches covered in washed up **** from the typhoon.
Trying to find a new place to stay as this place dosen't suit us both.
on the plus points it's bloody boiling and sunny, so off to lounge by the very fancy pool!
... prepaid the hotel room for another 10 days. Something she had me do to save another dollar a day. I feel trapped. I am trapped. And that's why I'm wondering what I've done to get myself into this situation.
For now, my decision is to use this as an extraordinary opportunity to practice awareness in the present moment. Can I be calm and aware while being constantly told I am spending too much or doing something wrong? I guess this ...
... in my scruffy shorts, I felt a little odd. Treated myself to a very extravagent cocktail. (I've always been a sucker for a beach bar :)
I'm not much one for beaches though, or swimming. Took a quick paddle in the sea, and a big wave got me (up to my waist), so at least I can say I've been in the South China Sea :)
As I don't think there's much else to do here, other than lay on the beach ...
... a year on the far side of the world! we also went parasailing one afternoon, the two of us in the one parachute, tied to the back of a speedboat1 good fun!
almost forgot! we went to a fantastic mineral spa here too where we shared a hot tub full of scalding hot mud before getting hosed down with naturally heated spring water! it was a great experience but could really do with havin an icy plunge pool as everything was hot and after a while it was tough to take!!
Nha Trang, Vietnam karkade... back. Haha. I am really curious to know which type of massage this was because I never had one like this before. I thought it felt really good compared to my first one in Saigon but everyone else said it was ok. On our way back to Nha Trang it was pouring rain. It was coming down pretty hard too. Dave and I stopped and picked up polka dot ponchos and as we are driving I felt the back tire slipping. We stop and notice that it’s flat. Charlie finds a local guy who ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam allieadventures... and stopped for lunch and the on-board chefs whipped up a pretty good meal, considering we were docked in the middle of a bay. After all the plates were cleared, the staff put on a “variety” show for us, which really just entailed a 3-piece garage band (including a guitar player with a very impressive utility nail) singing some incomprehensible Vietnamese songs and pulling every nationality of foreigner up on stage and singing a stereotypical song pertaining to ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam sarahandhanan... 3rd polo shirt on the way home, which is the best of the lot, I'm really pleased with it. I gave some thought to starting a new career designing & exporting polo shirts but Katie talked me out of it!
Ok, the bus is due for Dalat any second and I need to stick my itchy post-haircut neck under the taps before the ride begins or it could be a ...
