... When we met up with the others it was a 1 hour trek back to the boat. If you are keeping tally, yes it was many hours of trekking, exhausting, but we would do it all over again. ... bit - they erected a dam that has filled up Cheow Lan lake, and created this spectacular natural reserve. We had to get a little truck around the park, and then on to a boat to get here, but it is so worth it. Limestone hills rise in every direction, the lake is actually over 100m deep in places, and the water is so clear you can see the sheer walls of the hills dropping into the deeps of the lake.
