... Kat's lessons in the afternoon and helped out with some maths activities. The kids were surprisingly good at English and maths for kindergarten. My favourite moment was when little Harry ran up to Dave and said 'teacher David, look look!' and then squirted the contents if his milk carton down his jumper. ... We are told that the 'master pupeteer' is now 75 years old and we are very lucky to watch his show.
We sit down on benches to watch the show, The pupeteer speaks in Thai so the old lady translates. Basically the puppeteer is behind a screen with a light to create a shadow. He holds up the puppets, making no effort to conceal the sticks he holds to move the puppets around. He puts on different voices for each puppet, making the lady puppets all high-pitched ...

There's also a cave in Thungsong with the reclining Buddha that Gabi and I visited after one of our bike trips to the big park out across the highway. This park is the perfect getaway. It's far away enough so that nobody is there and it's enormous. With a river and the mountain right there, it feels like civilization couldn't ever touch it. So yeah.. I kinda love Thungsong ...
