We found our beachside campsite in Hiawatha Park of Lake Michigan just ten miles or so after crossing the Mackinaw Bridge. We are on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our tent is pitched, it's about 72 degrees. The girls are all wound up, so it's a good to stop and let them burn off some energy running from our campsite in the woods down the ...

It was the most amazing feeling, the town was busy in the morning already, but it is a slow life, no rushing, just walking, biking, drivers of the carriages and cargo wagons, visiting back and forth and waiting for riders, or cargo to be unloaded. Went to the Soo Locks which is quite a tourist strip. Quite a few people there but not out on the streets in the rain. Watched the water rising in the lock and ships getting ready to enter and one leaving from another lock. The rail bridge over to Canada has two spans which open to let the ships through. One rises while the other opens up in the middle and each side flips up. The queue ...

... the town for pizza and a laundromat.
We had a full afternoon washing clothes, devouring pizza pie, sightseeing as we strolled on Main Street and on the St.Ignace Harbor Walk. Mint condition Corvettes were roaring into town for a weekend show. I met up with Bud and his wife while they were polishing ...
