... past at least a dozen beachfront restaurants before choosing Lei Lei, because of the wide variety of foods. The sun set as we ordered our dinners. I had fried calamari and Tracey had chicken satay. Fabulous food for about $13CDN each, including a welcome drink, drinks with our meals and fruit for dessert! The tide had been coming in and the water was now one table away from our feet. Time to leave and walk back to our hotel.

Singaporeans are clearly industrious people, Balinese are not – they are extraordinary patient in their traffic jams, there is no pushing or shoving, they are soft spoken, friendly, helpful if they can, and mostly honest. ... way to have dinner and a lovely New Year's Eve. We had a crispy duck starter which was already prepared in pancakes with the hoisin dip. For our main course we had lamb with asparagus and delphinoise potatoes, for dessert a Crete brûlée... Yummy! We then went back to our room to bring in the new year.
