The Beverly Hills of Bali? Sorry. I disagree.

Leaving Lovina, we headed by bus towards Jimabaran where we encountered a major traffic jamb which delayed our arrival for at least three hours. Bali’s volcanic soil and tropical climate bless the islanders with year-round crops, and we had a chance to learn about one of them this morning when we visited beautiful rice terraces during our …

Gee Golly I Love Bali!!

Waking up in Bali has been truly enchanting (just like you said Ross :) I'm staying with a local Balinese family who opens up their home to people from all over the world. It's called the Surfer Cave Accommodation which is situated in Jimbaran, the southern part of the island that boasts some of the most fabulous beaches in the world.
I arrived here Sunday and was picked up by Jont and his son. Jont is the dude who runs this place and is extremely kind, like ...

Goodbye to Ubud. Hello Jimbaran and Java

... fried veggies and a huge container of rice. Maybe we're jaded, but with both found the fare lacking in flavor. Still, worth a visit.   When we checked in to our flight to Java this morning, we were surprised to learn that we were designated VIPS and the girl walked us through the airport to the executive lounge. As soon as we finished our coffee we were again picked up by the same girl and told the plane was leaving a half hour early. We were ...

On the other, it supports these received beliefs about the world's body by invoking deeply felt moral and aesthetic sentiments as experiential evidence for their truth. Religious symbols formulate a basic congruence between a particular style of life and a specific (if, most often, implicit) metaphysical, ...

Jimbaran, Bali, Indonesia

... of you bartering with bemos etc all day! Col had a walk around to try and find a room within our budget but Jimbaran is known as "Beverly hills Bali" it's full of resorts etc. The only room within our budget was around 15 min walk from the beach, it was a bit of a rip off for what it was, it smelt damp and we later found out the bed was broken underneath as every time we moved in the night it made the loudest creaking noise ever! We quickly showered (in the cold water) ...

    Beautiful Balinese style...poor location

Beautiful hotel grounds with large comfortable rooms. The hotel is built in a traditional Balinese style and fronts the beach. We saw fantastic sunsets from here. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Jimbaran and therefore not within walking distance of the town. While free wifi is available in the lobby and restaurant, it is not available in the rooms. Our biggest complaint is that the air conditioning stopped working around midnight. We were unable to open windows because of Mosquitos so we spend a night roasting in our room.
