Beautiful!!

This hotel is Beautiful. The slide guy is very nice and friendly, the rooms are beautiful, as well as the kaanapali beach. We dont recomend kayak for kids, you must be fit for it, it is a lot harder than it looks, trust me. The mini- golf course is great for kids. The rooms again are pretty witha separate room, bathroom, dining room and kichenette. The breakfast in the morning is very convinient and is good!! It saves quite a bit of money. I would recomend this hotel for anyone who is waiting tho ahve a great hawaiian vacation.
Not What I expected

Went to Maui in 10/02, the hotel was a little on the dirty side. I was expecting something a little nicer since we have stayed a many other Embassy's , it 's just ok. Staff was excellent, service was great. They really need to do a good remodel of this resort.
Great for kids & adults

Our young children loved the pool and all services were convenient and efficient, including third party baby sitting for our 1 year old. Scheduling services through the hotel was very easy without hitches. The staff went out of it's way to help get medical attention for an ear infection. My wife enjoyed the spa, I enjoyed the work out room. The only draw back would be the beach - not the best in Kannapali but it also wasn't our priority. The rooms are spacious, with amenities perfect for a family with young children.
Nice Ocean Views

Lovely property with views that are fantastic. The only drawback was the restaurant food at night was a bit lacking. Going back again in May... just love the sound of the waves crashing on the beach! Jack
Great with only minor flaws

We just got back from a vacation there that included two teens, a man and woman in their 40's and a grandmother. All these ages had a good time. Excellent casual restaurant downstairs with lovely music at night and tasty entrees, and the snorkeling was right there and very good. Excellent staff. Only complaint was the louvered doors betweeen rooms and bathroom. You can see light through them and hear every word through them. These need to change soon. We are tempted to buy a time share there if they change these. Pretty view and nice pool, though the ads make the slide sound great, when it is only for young kids and isn't much of anything at all. Overall, though, an excellent value.
Great place to stay in maui

Embassy suites is the greatest htoel on all of the islands. Its a great place for the whole family. the suites are big and are very comfortable. You're reading this from a teenager, so you know it has to be a great place to go to. You,ll have lots of fun there.
Hotel Amenities with Condo space

We had a wonderful time at this facility and recommend it highly. For the price we would have paid for a hotel room a mile or so south, we got a large condo with comfortable living room, 32" TV and a gigantic bathroom with separate vanities. The view from our balcony that overlooked the gardens, pool and ocean was beautiful. Access to Lahaina was quick and easy.
Breakfast was hot and generous buffet, though the same basically each day. The afternoon cocktail reception offered beer, wine, mai tais and margaritas and simple mixed drinks with chip munchies. There was no limit and the drinks were generously poured -- both breakfast and cocktails pretty much follow what we have received at Embassy Suites in other cities.
This is our third trip to Hawaii so we were wise to the timeshare pitches and the "discounts" you get to attractions for giving up part of your vacation to hear them. We simply ignored the invitations and made our own arrangements -- easily done.
I don't know what the reviewer who gave the poor rating expected. If you want sit-down, served breakfasts and made to order blender drinks they are available -- along with smaller hotel rooms -- for more money at the Sheraton and Marriott, but you will also pay more for these luxuries. The overall package at the Embassy was economical and ample. Having tried the other places on previous trips, we will be heading back here on our next trip to Maui.
Not what I expected

I t wasen't really what I expected. The hotel in general needs quit of remodeling, I personally do not consider it a 5 star hotel. The rooms are nice, there big and clean, but the beach is dirty, there was always seaweed, so you can't really swim; we always had to go to another beach.
They offer everyday a hour cocktail from four to six; there's only beer and 2 mixed drinks, there's no frozen drinks and you can't walk around with them, you have to stay in that area. They offer breakfast too, everyday is the same, it's not to bad, but my recomendation is don't get hooked up because of that.
Overall it's an ok hotel, but If I go back I would go to sheraton or marriot.
Would recommend Embassy Suites
from A TripAdvisor Member
We would recommend Embassy Suites. The suites are very large and we lucked out and got a corner room with a view of both the pool and ocean. The breakfast is "free" and is OK, but not great. As another reviewer mentioned there is a welcome breakfast (the free breakfast here is much better!) and they do try to talk you into attending a timeshare presentation. However, also at this breakfast they have someone who books all of your activities for the week and plans everything out which was great because activities book up fast. In addition, if you do decide to attend the timeshare presentation it saves you 10 or 20 percent off of your activities. We did quite a bit (biking, helicopter ride, etc) so it saved us over $100 and was worth the hour we spent listening to the presentation. There is also a cocktail hour everynight with free mai tai's. Staff was very friendly. Both of their restaurants are good. Must have the BBQ pork sandwich and try a lava flow in a frozen pineapple.
Embassy Suites Resort Ka'anapali

I would recommend this resort. It was clean and the suites were large. I got a great deal using the Entertainment discount. The pool was nice, not as great as some of the larger hotels, but nice and fun. Skip the "welcome breakfast" it's a timesharing pitch, these are timeshares, but other than that invitation, you wouldn't know it, they did not advertise it much at all. We had a corner room with a spectacular view of the pool and the ocean.
