We all went back to sleep from 12:30-3:30 and were feeling a lot better, collectively.   With his fever down most of the day, we decided to take an outing and check out Tiananmen Square. Unfortunately, we missed the flag lowering, but we arrived just in time to see the army emptying the square fairly quickly.
