We had lunch there as well then it was off to the Summer Palace, which was a retreat for emperors, the most famous being the Empress Dowager Cixi, also known as the Dragon Lady. The palace sits on a huge lake so at Paul's suggestion we took a paddle boat and spent a very relaxing hour pedalling our way around a portion of the lake enjoying the sights.
