... opportunity to extend my trip, and take time to experience life in Ireland and attend an internship conference for work. I grabbed the opportunity, not realizing that Ireland was a country I should have had on my bucket list long ago. With my trip extension, also came the chance to meet up with my parents in Rome, a city I have dreamed about visiting for the longest time. After everything unfolded, I was on my way to ...

After our relaxing 3 days we had to hit the road again as we wanted to get to Malapascua to dive with the Thresher sharks. That meant another couple of days on the bus. First day we were up early to get our hotel boat to the main beach. They kindly walked us to the area that the buses pick up, which was handy as it's just a random spot on the side of a road. So I get a room for one night and will be heading off in the morning. The town looks nice with of course lots of fast food places and shops. It does have a ocean walk that is being built and maybe someday worth more then just a ...

... we took at after a little haggling and decided that the following day we would just move on up the coast to Catbalogan and not bother with the islands... So we were up early and waiting outside the resort for a van or bus to pass which would take us back to Tacloban and then we could get a bus or van on to Catbalogan. Nothing came past. We waited for an hour before deciding to walk, with full packs once again, ...

    Catbalogan

A travel blog entry by frawldog on Nov 07, 2011

... city of Catbalogan. Catbalogan was 2 hours past Calbayog. The lonely planet book says the roads between the two cities are hell, but they must have been updated because they were not so bad. The vans ran quite smooth and were a lot better than buses. The cities and villages we passed today are still ****** and old, but the island itself is better than where we were previously in South East Luzon. It's a bit more tropical. More palms trees. The weather is getting ...
