Glover's Reef, P.O. Box 10 Dangriga, Stann Creek, Belize
The diving at Glover's reef was good, it wasn't fantastic, but then again I am pretty spoilt for diving so I am still happy with what I saw. It was mainly wall diving, with some good walls teeming with life. I wish there had been more colours though, but you can't have everything. Belize is home to the second largest living reef system in the world apparently after Great barrier reef in Australia. (In my view the diving in Oz is way better than what I experienced in Belize.) I was the only di...

Another bus. This time from Belmopan to our final desitination for the day, the Garifuna town by the sea called Dangriga.
Long journey but the day didn't ened on our arrival in Dangriga. More on the pornographic dancing we experienced later ...
... well (she’s only a year older than us). Also the little baby’s HIV test came back negative – another relief. There are two little boys on the ward with gastroenteritis, but looking from the nurses station there was a striking difference between the two of them.. One was climbing all over his bed (only hampered by his rather tangled drip), watching Fireman sam on the TV… the other ...
Dangriga, Stann Creek, Belize sarahelectiveWe went into the hospital early since Maria had a telecommunications meeting with the Americans. I can't remember how much I’ve already said about what the American’s are doing but basically they’re trying to set up a link between their hospital in Rochester, NY, and Dangriga, which will hopefully involve consults, lectures and remoter clinics from the Americans. Maria is going to be the organiser in Dangriga and was meeting the Dr in Rochester with whom she ...

I've heard of Rastafaris and they are well known for the use of the sacred herb ganja...my kind if people. And somewhere in the back of my mind was a factoid that Rasta has something to do with Haile Selassie, former King of Ethiopia. Huh? So I decided to do some research...the name Rastafari is actually Haile Selassie's real name ...
Dangriga, Belize margreet98... times you'd get nothing and just have to tred water. We had helmets and headtorches on and so each time you looked up you got to see how tall the cave was and a lot of those stag-lerg-mites and stag-lerg-tights (im sure the phonetic spelling will help you pronounce it as much as it helped me spell it). We made it to the dry cavern where we saw lots of pottery that had never been removes from the cave. So where we saw it is where the Mayans left it. There wwre also ...

We are all still exhausted after that sleepover, and it is going to be a long day in the sun, doing work projects and cleaning up the village. We all miss you, and please keep us in your prayers, especially for health and energy in the last few days of our trip. Lots of love!!! Mel PS. After reading this, Leah wanted me to add that there was a chicken foot in the stew Alice made us, which we all avoided
Conheci varias pessoas, basicamente ...
Caves Branch, Belize carollo... me think more clearly about what my next path should be. But for now let me fill in the blank that has been this past week.... As you may remember, last Saturday night I was forced to retire from the festivities at the rather embarassing hour of 21:20. So it was with some surprise that I woke the next day in the early afternoon, without any trace of a hangover. Petra and I had been toying with the idea of renting some bikes and doing a tour of the island, and it turned out that ...
Corazal, Belize elltrev... Village and then onto Hopkins where the lodge was. The heat and humidity was near unbearable but the gentle sea breeze took the worst away from it. Thankfully our room was air conditioned.
We were staying in the honeymoon casista. A beautiful room on stilts overlooking the pool and sea. Fresh flowers were sprinkled over the bed and in the corner is a sunken bath. The shower is enormous and everything is definitely big enough for two. It's just perfect.
