We were here for a pre-cruise stay. Other than mosquitoes, it was great. Beautiful, well maintained property. At the prices, though, it wouldn't hurt to include internet for everybody.

After our long journey to the island, we settled in yesterday, enjoyed our private deck with amazing views, turquoise clear water, and some tropical fish circling our feet, we ventured around the resort, laid out in the sun, and met new friends in the pool bar. Even though we traveled 8,000 miles, one of the first couples we met lives only 30 …

... area where we put down the anchor so we could snorkel. With the water the temperature of bathwater, and the colour so exquisitely clear and blue, we could not wait to get in the water. Of course, Theo was the first in to the water and the last one out. The coral is not bright and colourful like the Great Barrier Reef, it is more rocky like with small patches of colour. The fish were small and plenty, but we didn’t think that there was as much variety as ...

... home in Oz when you were allowed to have a life outside of work? Come Monday the mad scramble to find a mechanic began and we appear to have one lined up for some time this week. They can't be more specific at this point but hopefully we’ll know by days end or tomorrow at the latest when they will be able to look at it. It appears we may have lost/blown our drive plate in the gearbox. If so it is a fairly big rebuild so hopefully it is something ...

... but that’s a different rant.) Instead of doing their duty, the public hides behind a meaningless “thank you” and the politicians clamor for another war against ISIS – a threat to the Middle East maybe but not to our freedom. If ISIS is really an existential threat, then Congress should fulfill its Constitutional duty and declare war. And Congress ought to pay for the war, not pass down trillions of dollars to our children ...

... We see chickens and dogs roaming freely in yards and in the streets, the driving skills around here are highly questionable as we avoid a couple close calls. The best was in the middle of town, a really nice car dealership was randomly stationed. You can get a brand new Porsche, or an Isuzu or Peugeot all at the same store... What a variety to choose from! We arrive at the port to board the ferry, but they tell us we need to change our ticket ...
