Historical Traveler Reviews of Hyatt Windward Pointe - A Hyatt Vacation Club Resort Key West

Great one-night stay

from A TripAdvisor Member
Through Expedia we reserved one of these condos for six of us for a one-night stay. All we really needed was a clean, affordable place with plenty of hot water for showers. Boy, were we surprised -- we thought it was a trick, and we would get to the place and have some kind of unpleasant surprise. This place greatly exceeded our expectations. It was easy to find. The two bedroom, two bath layout was very convenient.

The beds were comfortable. We didn't really need them, but there were three TV's, one in each room. The outside balcony area was very nice, overlooking the pool/oceanview -- large, with a large round table, several comfortable chairs, and a couple of rocking chairs. The master bedroom/bath (open bath area) with large jacuzzi style tub and separate glassed in shower, separate toilet room was very nice. Nice amenities -- even came with a washer/dryer combo (handy after several days camping in the rain in the Keys), complete with small package of soap, ready to use! Each bathroom came with its own blow dryer. The kitchen was complete and well furnished -- all we had to do was head down to Publix and get some drinks and coffee, go to Dunkin Donuts for the rest, and we were set for breakfast! The large outside hot tub and swimming pool were wonderful. We just kept going back and forth from one to the other -- great after a day of running around being a tourist in old town Key West. The pool is a large free-form, infinity edge pool, with a maximum depth of about 5 1/2 feet. The only thing that could have made it better would be for it not to rain! All in all, we would gladly stay here again.

Awesome Resort

I stayed at the Winward Pointe from October 28-31 with my family. Every room has an ocean view, with two bedrooms and two bath rooms. Booked the room through expedia.com for $129 a night, which is an excellent deal for this 11 month old property. The rooms have crown moulding, large kicthen, full size regridgerator, and a large balcony with chairs. Staff was very friendly, everything you would expect with the Hyatt name, plus you get to use your Hyatt passport at the three other Hyatt locations in Key West. The pool was my favorite part of the resort, it was very big, 3-5.5 feet deep all the way around, also had a good size hot tub. There is also free pool and ping pong in the rec-room. Hotel located near the airport but that is not a big deal at all, barely notice the planes. Great resort for the money.

Impressive all around

We had a wonderful stay. The two bedroom suites are wonderfully decorated. There were beautiful views and the staff was fantastic. They had receptions at the pool on Tuesday and Thursday, with great music.

We cannot wait to go back.

Excellent Property

Excellent Property on all fronts....nice & spacious interiors, good maid service, good location w/ocean view, great pool and spa. Get a unit off the road to avoid traffic noise and don't worry about planes -- we only heard them poolside a handful of times over the course of five days.....never heard them inside. Checked out the other Hyatt properties while there and this one is the BEST by far!

Loved the Hyatt Windward Pointe Resort

from A TripAdvisor Member
Absolutely loved the Hyatt Windward Pointe Resort. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full service kitchen, a lovely covered verandah, and a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. The pool was great. A couple of times they served free Margaritas and Rum Punch at the pool. Though located next to the airport, it was still quiet at night compared to the noise level in Old Town. Great for seniors like us. We did not rent a car and really didn't need one. The Bone Island Shuttle stops at the Hyatt every half hour. You can ride all day for $5 per person. I highly recommend the Hyatt.

Stop looking - this is it!!!!!!!!

My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at the Hyatt Windward Pointe Key West. Beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with wonderful decor, the balcony that is at least a 10x10. The pool area is beautiful and also has a great view of the ocean. You can't go wrong renting this place, we got a great deal with expedia of only $129 /night.

Breathtaking View

My husband, nephew, and I stayed here for three unforgetable nights.

The room view was breathtaking and the resort even features a telescope on the balcony! The staff were very friendly and helpful. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Very clean and beautiful decor.

Windward Point is a treat!

We spent 3 nights at Windwarde Point and loved it! The rooms are beautifully decorated and very spacious. The covered porch was huge and had a generous table and chair set, including 2 rocking chairs. The only negative for the resort was the road between the property and the ocean. Would definately go there again.

Beautiful Unit

from A TripAdvisor Member
The unit was absolutely beautiful. They had the most comfortable bed for a rental unit. The only drawback was the road between our view of the beach. Other than that, can't think of anything but positive reviews.

You won't be sorry you stayed at the Windward.

With this brand new (10 months old) Key West property, the Hyatt has maintained my opinion of their superior quality in vacation experience. My husband's first words when entering the 2 bedroom suite were, "This is a palace!" The kitchen and bathrooms were chockful of granite. We were concerned we would regret staying next door to the airport, but it didn't turn out to be a problem. The planes stop at 10 pm and don't start again until 7 in the morning. Also, the windows are double paned and the building must be sound proofed. The ocean view across the 4 lane road is just a view; there is no accessable beach. My kids were just as happy with the pool. We did make a trip to the Zachary Beach State Park to get it out of everyone's system.
