Great service, great restaurant, beautiful resort and amazing pools. When you look at the pictures, you think it can't be that great until you get there and see how picturesque it really is.

I had gone to Scottsdale on a work trip a few couple years prior and found this hotel was amazing. I raved so much about it, we decided to make a trip of it. I think we ate at every restaurant on site and the Italian restaurant called Alto Ristorante e bar and that was an amazing meal. The service all around the hotel is great and the pools were …

Yesterday, we hiked from our Site 79 up to the Clay Mine Trail and a bit on the Overton Trail. Again we had to deal with the "horse dust", but not as much as the other day. We encountered a few solo hikers and several bicyclists, one of which startled us with his speed of catching us unawares. (Not a good sentence, but that's how it happened.) ...

Valentine's Day was hot and sunny, perfect for a lunchtime visit from our friends Donna and Bud! Meanwhile the others went gathering 'desert roses', lovely rocks with a pink quartz-like formations on them. Jan and Brian lucked into the beginning of Gold Rush Days in Wickenburg, so ...

... a treat. We went outside and hit a free bag of balls at the range and hit a few puts - then we were off.

The course was in near perfect condition and loaded with hazards. We saw several of the large cactus right off of the tees loaded with golf balls but they were protected by the thorns of the cactus. They were left because they are so thick that you can't get them out of there without causing injury ...

... from Red Deer) had Shaw.
The HydroHot furnace in our motorhome piled up so we replaced it. We were fortunate enough to find a dual certified AquaHot technician that knew his stuff and he was quick to point out that the unit's burning chamber had a factory defect. He phoned the factory, explained the problem, sent them pictures and fought on our behalf but the warranty had expired... tough. The new one cost us $9000. ...
