One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Although we were in one of the cheaper rooms we had a good view of the mountains. Pool area excellent and good shuttle services to local areas. Breakfast very good and served in a stunning setting.

I shall certainly stay here again.

The view was great, even though we were technically in the basement. We had a walkout from our room. The room was pretty basic; no extras. There was some miscommunication regarding the internet access. The front desk did not mention that I was paying for this service, and because I was under the assumption that it was extra, I didn't use it. Facilities for conferences were nice.

The Best Vacation Spot for Us EVER, with Kids

    from

Spent 10 days there in March 2003. We went with my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son. In short, it was the best vacation ever. From the amazing pools to the beach, catamaran sailboat ride through high swells, to the amazing ocean views.. this hotel is the greatest. We had a room overlooking the ocean (partial) 5th floor, also overlooking the gardens. We could see whales from the room, and the kids LOVED the views of flamingos and other animals in the gardens below. We have already booked a return trip to the Hyatt Regency Maui for March 2004... maybe we'll see you there!

    Wonderful Family Vacatiion

    from

We have just returned from a lovely family vacation at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accomodating to our requests. We had 3 teenagers with us and the staff worked hard to give us 2 connecting rooms with lovely ocean views ( an up-grade because we were celebrating our 25th wedding ann.) They also sent up a frig for each room and extra towels. The hotel itself if beautiful. Very comfortable rooms and beds, and fabulous landscaped grounds. There were many quiet places to sit and have drinks and coffee away from the more active areas. All had lovely ocean vistas. The pool area was super for the kids. A shuttle came by the hotel quite often to take people to Lahaina for shopping excursions. There is a walkway along the ocean that connects all the hotels along the beach. It was very nice to walk along here and see all the other areas. In our opinion, the Hyatt was the nicest hotel!! This is a wonderful hotel, with friendly and accomodating staff. We would recommend it highly!

    Hyatt is AAA

    from

The Hyatt, Maui is a beautiful, well-run hotel. The food and service is terrific. The pool area is one of the best anywhere. The hotel has an excellent location about 4 miles from the historic town of Lahaina. You can't go wrong with the Hyatt.

    Wow..........

    from

Oh my GOD!! You will love this hotel. Worth every penny.

    Loved this Resort

    from

My husband and two pre-teen girls stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui and just loved it. We were supposed to stay at the Embassy Suites but when we arrived they told us they were overbooked and they were sending us to the Hyatt Regency (at the same rate we were paying at the Embassy Suites plus they paid for our resort fee, gave us a $30 per day food credit and we still had free breakfast buffet privledges at the Embassy Suites). Well, needless to say once we got there, we were overjoyed! The resort is just beautiful and the grounds are breathtaking. We all loved the huge pool and waterslide. The beach was not that impressive in front of the resort but we did go down to the Sheraton to Black Rock one day to snorkel (be warned it is a long trip on foot and parking in that area is expensive!) I don't know if it is always like this but the day we were there the ocean was really rough and I wouldn't even let my youngest get in. Our room was the best we have ever stayed in. One of the beds is a queen and they all have down comforters. It was truly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room was spacious with walk in closets. Our room overlooked the grounds and pool with a partial ocean view. We walked down to the Whalers Village and enjoyed some casual dining there on the beach (get the Hula Pie at Leilanis!) and shopping. We ate a few times at the resort (mostly for lunch by the pool) and it was fine yet expensive (everything is expensive there!) If we ever make it back to Maui again, we will definately be staying at the Hyatt!

The Very Best on Kaanapali Beach

    from

Finding the best hotel in the Lahaina area of Maui is probably a pretty close competition between the Hyatt Regency Maui, the Maui Marriott Vacation Club and the Maui Westin. But having experienced all three (and believe me the accommodations are WONDERFUL at all of them), I can tell you the Hyatt has their number for a couple of reasons.First, the rooms are incredibly comfortable and feature all the little extras you'd expect from a top notch resort including down comforters on the beds. The grounds and lobby area are some of the most beautiful you'll ever see anywhere. And the you simply can't beat their HUGE free-form pool with waterfalls, caves and waterslide. But here is where the Hyatt beats out its close competitors. Swan Court: the beautiful, worldwide award-winning restaurant where you can enjoy a breakfast buffet while enjoying the company of swans, watching a beautiful waterfall, and hearing the ocean crash in. Spa Moana: the only Kaanapali Beach hotel with a full-service spa (an it is amazing). And the service: It is unbeaten by any of its competitors.BOTTOM LINE: The Hyatt not only holds its own as one of the world's top, but is the BEST hotel on Kaanapali Beach.NOTE ON MAUI: If you are going to Maui, or even Hawaii for that matter, Kaanapali Beach is the place to go. Being in an area with several large resorts it is not as quite as secluded as the properties in the Wailea area (for example) but being a little out of seclusion is great if you are considering doing anything away from your hotel (I certainly hope you are). Kaanapali Beach is home to an amazing shopping/restaurant complex called Whaler's Village. It is also a five minute drive from Lahaina, a little vintage whaling town sprawling with Hawaiian culture, shopping, probably the best dining in Hawaii, and amazing attractions like the Old Lahaina Luau (rated best Luau in the islands). Staying at Kaanapali Beach also puts you close to snorkeling trips, island adventures and other attractions that will really add to your experiee best place to stay in Maui

    A great Resort

    from

This is a great resort. I would highly recommend it. The service is excellent and very friendly. The pool is amazing-it's very large and has a enjoyable water slide. The beach is not exceptionally nice-however, if you walk north towards the far cliffs at the end of the beach the beach becomes nicer. The resort has a nice location with amazing views of Lanai, Molakai, and certain mountains on Maui. The food at the resort is alright, but not great. I would recommend going to Longhi's (a five minute drive into Lahaina.) It is one of the best seafood restaurants i've ever been to. Also visit Whaler's Village, a beautiful open shopping center. It is a fifteen minute walk down the beach. Overall, I would say this is one of the nicest resorts I've ever stayed at.

    Heaven on Earth

    from

This hotel was amazing. They have so many unique and spectacular things that it takes your breath away. I can not even begin to decribe how enjoyable this hotel was. The staff was very friendly and attended to our every needs. The views were great. The food was outstanding. And people from all the other hotels in the area were trying to get change hotels, but the Hyatt was sold out.

    Give us your money.

    from

The facility is very nice and beautiful. The service is awful. My group was a wedding group, and we did not feel like valued guests. I have been to several 5 star resorts, my experience was more like a 2 star experience. Expect everything to have a price tag at this resort. The rooms were OK, my terrace view was more like a parking lot view. Maybe, if I hung on the guard rail I might see the ocean. Nothing to welcome you to the island of Maui. Just drop as much money as possible. After spending as much as $444 night, I expect much more.

    Great time for our family

    from

Our family just had a terrific seven days at the Hyatt Regency, Maui. Our 10 year old stayed in the pool the entire time - great tube slide, great pool and activities. Their workout facilities were above average, and their individual fitness classes were excellent, with a small $5 price per class and great selection of classes. Can't wait until we return.
