Hi all, Well we have just spent a couple of days in Hunter Valley. We are staying at the Hunter valley resort, which is right out in the countryside. Beautiful location, looking over vines. Went on a wine tour yesterday, went to a total of 6 wineries. Tried a total of 40 wines, VERY NICE! Had lunch at a winery call Tempus Two, it is a very modern building and the food was Thai, YUM. The trip from Sydney to here was not to bad, apart from getting lost as soon as we got over the harbour bridge....

Arrived in Hunter Valley the home of some of the best Australian wines in the world after a 3 hour drive (including getting slightly lost) from Sydney and we checked into the Hunter Valley resort which is a working brewery and vineyard (they make all the Aussie wine for Tesco's in the UK too!!.....). Early start today, and we had to lug our cases through the streets of Sydney as our pick-up point was outside another hotel and we didn't want to risk the wrath of a taxi driver at 8am during rush hour on a Monday morning! If we should ever want to become alcoholics we would spend our time in the Hunter Valley, for I'm sure they have courses (or perhaps a wine tour) to help you in this noble pursuit. Perhaps we don't need the number for alcoholics anonymous just yet, but spending two days in the Hunter Valley has given us an appreciation for the nuances of the different wines in this region. Hang on. How did we end up in France - there's a villa, a pool to ourselves, surrounding vineyards and plenty of sunshine.
