          Day 9

... disgusting. I disinfected mine, but it still grossed me out. After we looked at all the fish up close, we had the opportunity to jump off the boat! I got some cool videos of that. I got sort of sunburnt, so a nice shower back at home base felt good after a busy day. Everyone got all dressed up, we ate dinner, then listened to a talk about how we can go further with GLA, 7 elements and the Dominican Republic. Lots of pictures were ...

... potentially die. And this isn't even an exaggeration! It wasn't also just because I was out of shape! Every single person besides the mentors (who completely downplayed this day to a little walk in the woods) was on the verge of death. I even took off my shirt so I was only in a sports bra. I'm not really the type of person to wear minimal clothing like that around people, but it was actually that hot. When we finally made it to the top and I collapsed on ...

... up with a skit about an assigned topic. After a group preformed, everybody else would have to guess the theme. My group got the theme: road rage -- Dominican drivers in the United States. Funny stuff. I was with a a guy named Ryan from VA, Danielle, also from VA, and my friend Riley from Nappa, CA. We came up with a pretty funny skit and I enjoyed performing it. Watching all the 9 other skits was also a great time because everyone's ...

... until midnight, then went out to Cabarete for some more drinking and dancing. Cabarete reminded me of Koh Phi Phi in Thailand where the beach is lined with clubs all boasting drink specials with the latest club hits booming from the sound systems. There were young locals and visitors of all ages mixing together and having a good time so we blended right in and danced the night away.

          I spent the next ...

... around a small square table. Too devoted to the
game at hand to raise his head long enough to say hello. Freddie is a Dominoes
champion in these parts. There is no questioning that fact. On the ride to our
homestay,I tried to prod and ask him a few questions, hoping for some revealing
hints or strategies. I did not get any secrets, but I did learn that there are
7 of each number in a set of Dominoes, and that you need to know how ...
