      ... 80 degrees and then steamed at 100 degrees. The eggs will give you good health and fertility. I couldn’t stomach a black egg with the sulphur smell in the air and yesterday’s dinner still stretching my stomach. However, I did try the black egg soft serve that actually was quite nice.

      ... see Mount Fuji in the distance but the weather had closed in further at this point so no such luck. We did have a nice boat ride through the heart of Hakone though and we managed to see a couple of Torii gates on the banks amongst the colourful autumn foliage. Back on the trail we reached the top of the hill where the trees thinned out and you could see all the way out along the landscape and out to sea which provided us with a great excuse to have a rest.       ... etc. The highlight however was the 25ft tall statue of the 11 headed Kannon, which as legend has it, washed up on shore in the 7th century in order to save the land having been thrown into the sea years before in a far away place in japan (Unfortunately no photos were allowed of Kannon).
