... rush to see everything or pressure to pick the best restaurant. I can stroll at a leisurely pace through the grounds of the shrine and the streets of town knowing I can come back whenever I want. Kamakura is such a cool town with so many more temples, restaurants, shops, trails and a beach to explore. I can't wait to go back. And if we get the house, it's only an 8 minute train ride away. Hopefully I clapped loud enough and the Shinto Gods were ...

We checked in at the hotel which is a traditional Japanese hotel with mats and no shoes in the room. It has it's own hot spring in the basement. We went for a nice soak. The hot spring pools are segregated and no clothes are allowed.

... on the superfresh sashimi – maguro, mirugai, kai, and some yummy unagi and roast. May gobbles up the pan and roast beef too. The girls are shy at first but quickly giggly as we enjoy a round of Jr. Snap it and an Arabesque/ nekko hunjata piano recital.

We all settle in for a good night's sleep in the old Haruko and Kendai bedrooms I remember fondly from 1984.

... On the way back to the car we buy a 6-pack of black eggs boiled in the onsen water for Izumi. She had mentioned these and I hope these are the eggs she was referring to.

Then it's back to the rental car office to return the car and walk to Odawara station where we take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo station and from there the Yamanoto Line back to Ikebukuro. We have a small bite to eat at the Blue Ocean Grill ...
