... before reaching the town of Otsuki. Four trains down, one to go! But here we received bad news. Due to the wet weather, the busses from Kawaguchiko up to the start of the Yoshida trail on Mt. Fuji were cancelled today! That left us with no way to do our Fuji climb – at least not today. After looking at our options, we headed up the last leg to Kawaguchiko anyways, and took a hostel for the night. The rain tapered off and the skies began ...

Unfortunately I was not able to make an pictures climbing up, it was just to dark. But it looked incredible, to see the clouds beneath you with the moon reflecting on it.The mountain just a shadow on each side of you, reminding you how steep it actually is.

There are a few platform's on the way to the top, to rest. However none of them have shelters, meaning you are the whole night exposed to ...

Leading up to the Sekisho is a parade of magnificent Cedar trees, aged over four hundred years old. Before heading back to the warm and dry of our Inn, we visited an old Shinto Shrine with a floating red torii (gate) in Lake Ashi.

8 km walk from walk Magemo to Tsumago.

The guide book and the tourist information centre told me that it would take 3hours to walk it.
However I only had 2, as I got up way to late to actually do this walk. What can I say i did it in 1 1/2 hours :)

Rock'n Roll!!!! found the coolest little coffee shop in Tsumago.

... equally spectacular. Another batch of small dishes came to us after the beds had been stripped and put away. A ryokan is definitely the way to relax and get a good night sleep. I'd recommend that if you climb Fuji to book one for the night after you've been to the summit. Most have their own onsens which is the perfect thing to do after a lot of ...
