... The hotel itself was pretty close to the Rio Tarcoles bridge. When we got to the gated entrance at 9:30AM(1.5 hours later than originally planned), we had to get a card to get us to the check-in area. After the gated entrance, it was a very scenic 10 minute drive through the forest to finally get to the hotel compound. We proceeded to check-in and luckily they had a room available for us. And part is due to the cost of electricity- it's very high and sits on a sliding scale that heavily penalizes the air conditioner types- at key moments of the day we huddle around the a/c in our room jostling for position- even our fitness centre, which advertises a/c only seems to turn it on for a few minutes a day (as the pools of sweat around each piece ...

... but this guy was a monster! Maybe 700 pounds. We also saw turkey vultures, hawks and an assortment of other birds.
There were a few other tour boats and one of the younger guides got out of their boat, slapped the water, and the huge croc came out of the water and the guide fed him some fish! Not only was this pretty dangerous, but also highly illegal. We did get some great shots of this however.
