      ... makes us feel comfortable in our learning. It's interesting to learn some of the similarities between Spanish and French, but of course there are many more differences than similarities. The grammar in Spanish seems very intimidating as beginners with numerous rules and exceptions to learn. Hopefully we will be able to communicate with basic conversations while we are here.

      ... haven't spent a single Costa Rican Colones! So far, Steve has tasked us with mango processing (he has very, very productive mango trees), digging holes for footings for the new volunteer cabin, cleaning the food-processing equipment, cooking, planting seeds and drying herbs in his solar dehydrator.       We were invited to leave the children a donation in the tip boxes and although I didn’t take a huge amount of notice, I think many did leave a few dollars - we gave soe $ to the little girl who grabbed Doug’s hand and got him up to dance in the Turkey Dance. She grabbed it from me and pushed it into the box.

      Heather and Kelly here! We started our day with another fabulous breakfast (with fresh mangos picked by Alicia and Allyson) and then rancho time! Our group did a great job leading the kids with some wonderful songs and bible stories in Spanish. Pete shared his testimony with everyone and did a fantastic job!!
