It is a few Kms past Tropea and not like the one closely named the same in California. In fact we are within sight of the sea, within meters of the railway line and within fewer meters of 6 goats and a rooster who thought it was morning about 5:30 when we arrived. We wanted to flee the touristy areas and guess what...we have. ...

All our flights went as planned and we, along with our suitcases (which I do always consider a miracle) arrived home to a warm greeting (not warm weather though...yikes!!) from Rose and Uncle Leo. The aunts and cousins were thrilled to see them and couldn't stop saying how beautiful Meg is and how Iain seems to be a sweet soul (apparently my cousin could tell this from Iain's eyes). We ate at La GIoiosa where we have been staying, under the stars and with the view of Cleto ...

... hugged me and kissed me and Louise also. He kept saying how fortunate he was to have us there. I think my Zia Maria is starting to dread saying goodbye. She held on to me pretty tight tonight. Tomorrow will be difficult as we will have to leave behind renewed ties (that were already strong to begin with) and bear my aunt's tears, of which there will be many. We have created many new memories that will carry us until next time around. I guess I just have to be happy with ...

... they are major highways, they still have twists, turns and tunnels so it's very different than driving the 401 at night!! Add to that the fact that they drive so fast and don't normally obey the rules...let's just say it was nice to get back to Cleto. We went through Falerna and with the bright lights, open market and number of people about, you would have thought it was much earlier than the 1:00 a.m. ish that it was!! Sleep came easily after the food, the wine and the drive ...
