We like jaipur. got up at half 6 this morning to get a morning bus to jaipur, about 6 hours. it could have been a lot worse as although the bus deffo wouldnt be allowed on english roads, by indian standards it was pretty comfy!

As a result of adding Jaisalmer, we had a long roadtrip today. To go to Jaipur from Jaiselmer is 600km, and took about 12 hours factoring in lunch and stops, etc.
We went a longer but faster route via Bikaner and stopped at Bikaner Fort on the way.
There was a small village we stopped at that had these interesting birds. They w...
Craving some western food and to escape the dirty streets we head to the Ramburgh Palace for afternoon tea. We get our first rickshaw of the trip and inevitably get ripped off big time. The train picked up some speed, cool air whipped in through open, barred windows and once again I felt the relaxing calm I had experienced sleeping out in the desert. The sun was setting beautifully and my spirits soared as I actually...

Jaipur, Rajasthan, India chelahOur train from Agra arrived late into Jaipur so we had arranged for just a basic place to stay the first night (Jas Vilas)...upgrading to a very nice place the second night (Taj Jai Mahal Palace). Turns out the more basic place was the one we liked more...but I'm getting ahead of myself. Arrival into Jaipur was a bit chaotic because we were half...
