Our last boat trip in Venice. Bags and bus went very early this morning but we caught up with it. After boarding we took the long bridge back to the mainland. What an amazing two days. We are continuing our journey in Italy heading south west to the historical Assisi. Didn't know what to expect as it is a relatively small place, not a big city, and yet very significant religiously and historically. The first glimpse is amazing. Perched ...

... rain started so we ducked into a nearby restaurant for dinner. Thunder and lightening and reasonable rain, but by the time we finished dinner it had basically stopped but we did make a purchase of an umbrella just to be safe. We were home by 9, tried to get Georges on face time to no avail. Technology and I are not good friends this trip! The wether is fantastic - sunny and warm with a lovely gentle ...

... to burn off. We got to ride in the back of the tractor down into the bottom of the vineyard then walked our way back. From there we went back to the factory and toured every possible part of the process, from dumping the grapes off, to yeast fermentation to aging to bottling. We were then treated to a wine and cheese tasting where we bought wine and met the general manager. We then drove to Monte ...

Today we packed up and our villa in Chiusi to begin our next journey to Florence. We decided to stop on the way at a town called Montepulciano, a beautiful place where a scene form one of my favorite movies was filmed..... New Moon! So off we went, stopping a church just outside the town, which was not only gorgeous but has a spot in the centre of the church where if you clap it echoes many times. The boys thought this was pretty cool (I'm sure ...
