Cooking up an authetic Italian storm

... good doctor, but to start with some pain killers. On the road for Paciano, where we were hoping to have a GF cooking class. No response to a couple of emails, we were not 100% sure that all was going to go according to plan.... We headed for the address on the website and rang the bell at the gate (this is a 40 acre olive farm with an electric gate similar to ours). Immediately we were greeted by our lovely hosts, who explained that they hadn't received our email and had been trying to ...

The Day I Saw Blue

... sunglasses, reading glasses (!) and some money for gelato! I got Tegz out of her pit and we headed down to do what we do best; read!

Believe it or not we laid there for over 7 hours! The sky was that sort of azure blue that signifies holidays. There was not a cloud in the sky. The sun actually shone. This was all well over due and well deserved. We had a spectacular view of the lake and a much needed breeze ...

... that front onto the lake with amazing manicured lawns. The lack of gears meant in wasn’t long until I was grunting and groaning with every slight slope. I lasted for 4 miles until my bum, legs, arms and hands were aching too much. Pitiful isn’t it!

We came back from the bike ride and Lyn BBQd. We sat around our citronella candle chatting, then bed, this time with Tegz safely in her tent. Tour of Tuscany tomorrow! Can’t ...

The Lows and the Highs

Actually, we did the highs first. We drove to a town called Gubbio, inland from us (back towards Perugia really), where we tried out their "cable car". These consist of small cages, each containing a maximum of two people, that go up the side of the mountain to a basilica at the top.

Fortunately the weather started out well, so despite the odd spot of rain, there was little or no wind, and jumpers were enough to keep us comfortable! ...
