Horizon Casino Resort- Lake Tahoe

... snowy mountains and through icy valleys we watched our cars temperature gauge plummet.
Thankfully once we arrived in Lake Tahoe it wasn't too cold. It is situated on the border of California and Nevada. As a result the main street has big casinos on the Nevada side and you can smell everyone smoking marijuana on the California side.
... are staying at this resort near the lake in south lake Tahoe in a dwelling that has 5 bedrooms, 2 stories and a Jacuzzi tub. the only problem is none of those bedrooms is mine and everyone is really loud and drunk and I don't feel like partying. I stayed in the hot tub for 2 hours and then took a Jacuzzi tub bubble bath for too long and now I have a terrible headache

... all day and I got better and faster. I went faster than Jess when she was racing me. Pete's report: it's all been said above. Love the confidence of youth. Great day, Ted thinks skiing is going as fast as you can until the turnstile stops you. Except I put too much peanut butter on Jess's sandwiches. Bigger drama than getting stuck on the side of the mountain the previous day. Cathy's report: well a family day can bring the highs and lows of no third ...
... you. I have added some photos and a video but it hardly shows how awesome it was! I had two servings!! We didn't have lunch so I felt like I could justify that choice After we ate until we couldn't possibly eat anymore, we went to the cinema to watch anchorman 2. It was average but it was nice to have some quiet time- it doesn't happen often on tour! We got back to our room, packed our bags and ...
... We through together what food we had, quickly packing up, and we were off.
Ominous storm clouds started to roll in just as we were arriving at the trail head. Though it hadn't rained my whole time in Reno so far, I knew we were bound to get at least a bit wet. We went for it with no worries, we knew what we were doing. We hit the trail and quickly passed 2 old cars that must have been driven off the road and left in the woods to rot away. Defiantly not what I was used ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Horizon Casino Resort- Lake Tahoe Stateline
I was a guest at the Horizon for four nights in May 2004. I was there attending a convention and business meeting of my national nonprofit organization. I must say that, prior to my arrival, I was apprehensive of staying at the Horizon based upon the reviews posted here. However, my stay proved to be OK - not stellar, but by no means miserable. I arrived at the hotel at noon on a Wednesday and feared having to wait until 4 pm to get a room. However, I was given keys to a nonsmoking room on the 8th floor of the Alpine Tower right away. I had a view of the mountain and not the lake, but was grateful to be able to get into a room quickly and grab some rest after having flown all night. I did not experience the lack of towels, dirty bathrooms, or adjacent guests having screaming sex. My room was smoke-free, quiet, and well-supplied with towels. I did not gamble, so cannot comment on the slots, etc. To get to our convention activities, I did have to walk through the casino which, like the lobby, was fairly smoky at times. The food they served to us was good and I found the staff friendly and helpful. Would I stay here again? Maybe not, but it wouldn't be because of a miserable stay this time.
Worst ever..If you only read one review let it be this one. Room smells like smoke had 2 small children who hated the stay. Food and service not good.
Bring your own pillows and towels...
The staff is very responsive and friendly; however, it doesn't make for the uncomfortable beds. The pillows were tiny and it felt as if you were sleeping on clouds, and my husband felt as if he were sleeping on bricks. The towels were a tad on the rough side but hey, it'll help those who want to exfoliate their skin. Aside from the negative comments, my friend won $500 in the casino!
The maid service and customer service at this hotel is by far the worst I have ever seen. First night the bed was broken, which I fixed myself without complaining, and then when I climed into bed I found cheetos in my sheets. I called the front desk and was treated rudely. When they finally sent someone up to the room they tried to hand me clean sheets to put on the bed. The next day I came back to my room to find the door left ajar by the maid service, the floor was not vacuumed and they had not replaced the toilet paper. When we called the front desk to complian they were rude and when we finally were able to reach a mannager all they could offer was 2 free passes to the buffett. I would never stay at this facility again and would worn anyone thinking of staying here to not do so the other three casinons nearby seemed much nicer. I am going to contact the travel agency who booked my trip and ask them to take this facility out of their options.
Just got back from another stay at the Horizon. They always do a good job and everything was teriffic. We stay there 3-4 times a year and have never had any problems
We stay here every year
We stay at the Horizon every year and have always had excellent rooms and service.
Stay Away at All Costs
Horizon is terrible. Motel 6 disguised as a Hotel. Non-Smoking room reeked of smoke. Room walls were paper-thin (heard neighbors having screaming during sex; bulldozer outside, and elevator in hall kept us up all night). Room was messy - Houskeeping failed to stock towels one day, soap the next - took 2 hours to deliver soap. Horrible experience, would never stay again.
My wife and I stayed at the casino and hotel in Horizon. We had a great time and loved the room. We had a nice room with a great view. The service was great and we loved our stay. We will be back to stay at the Horizon next time we go.
Not a good experience at The Horizon Casino
i was at the horizon casino and had the worst experiance of my life, I witnessed a patron being attacked in the restraunt, blood flew everywhere we were sitting, thats just the beginning.
as they removed the attacker, the victim was harrassed by the local sheriff's department, and called a lair, as if being attacked was'nt enough and to watch the police and securty working in concert to make this man feel worse, they took his picture and wheeled him out in a wheel chair bleeding and with two black eye's it gets better, after the victim left security was still cleaning up blood of tables and booths with a water bottle(yicks, hepituts ) i left after i saw all of that and did not pay the bill, i will never go there again.... diner beware the Horizan don't care........
